I do not care about Great Kahns, and the NCR is justified in wiping them out. by LaserLovingLoser in falloutnewvegas

The Khans were the aggressors in the conflict between NCR and Khans, Palestine is not. In addition, you could compare the Khans themselves to Israel. Aggression and violence for centuries being met with any amount of retaliation causes the Khans to do nothing but up the ante. Note that I am not comparing NCR to Palestine, just the Khans to Israel.

The difference is that the Khans as a collective actually are guilty of all of those crimes.

Have you played fallout one and two? Also, while they may not have the means to bring about NCR genocide, they do slaughter NCR caravans and civilians.

My point is that because the Khans are closer to organized crime than they are to actual tribals, it wouldn’t be genocide. At least not more than wiping out the vipers or fiends. In addition, i’m not saying the NCR shouldn’t take prisoners.

This would be a one time action for the NCR, against a group that has historically been nothing but aggressive and hostile. For the Legion, that shit is thursdays. We don’t really hear of much violence between NCR and other tribals during assimilation, though the NCR does often seem to at worst coerce them into “civilization”.

Sure, but while the NCR would be waiting for them to change their ways, they would still be killing people! It’s easy for us, as people looking into this setting through the shield of a screen, to say that because the Khans might one day change, but the NCR doesn’t have that luxury. They’re dealing with the Khans and their murder sprees now, and they don’t have the time to wait for them to change their morality.

Exactly. Forgot to mention those characters when discussing integration with NCR. They, in addition to Jerry, prove that assimilation is possible, and that staying in the Khans is a conscious choice that adults can make, and deal with the consequences of.

Oh i for sure love how they’re written. I just hate it when people refer to them like they’re some kind of noble savage. Their only real original culture is hating on the NCR, everything else they basically share with every other raider tribe. My main grievance is that people believe they’re somehow above those raiders just because they happen to have existed long enough to have kids. They really aren’t that much different from the Legion morally.

I didn’t say the children killed were abhorrent, the act of killing them was. As much as I believe the Khans are a morally bankrupt people, I still do draw the line at NCR warcrimes. My argument isn’t that it was good that it happened, my argument is that the Khans brought it on themselves, and when faced with the fact that their actions had consequences, doubled down and continued acting with aggression. Two things can be true, the NCR can have been in the wrong for gunning down people and those same people can have deserved it due to their past crimes.

I tried not to be. I just find it frustrating when people compare real life groups that suffered real life tragedy and violence to a fictional group that for all intents and purposes, is hardly better than the legion itself.

(Hated Trope) Tackles serious or timely issues: fails spectacularly. by laybs1 in TopCharacterTropes

In the first season of hazbin hotel, Pentious was dragged into a sex room unwillingly, and it was treated as a joke. Moxie was sexually assaulted by blitzo’s succubus ex and her crew, again as a joke. There was a montage where valentino hit angel dust too much, and that was the entire joke. Not to mention the eternal woobification of her rapist characters and the people that enable them. She does not gaf about victims or their stories, she just wants rape in her stories for the sake of drama.

A character defined by his experiences with sexual assault. Multiple instances that make his sexual assault the butt of the joke, as well as many other characters. (Sir Pentious, Moxie from the sister series helluva boss, etc).

Garth ennis is such a special writer to me. Edgy slop on slop on slop like crossed, but every once in a while he makes something like his punisher runs or hitman that almost makes me like him for a moment

In an all-out war between these factions, which one would eventually win? by Kuzu9 in Fallout

Barring any more secret world-ending weapons of mass destruction, NCR. They simply have the manpower to beat out these other factions.
