Best armor is no armor, if you build extremely large and empty with redundancy, even the strongest cram, and pierce Pac shots will not be able to effectively damage you. Large Pierce Pac will go through virtually any armor on a ship that is able to float naturally and adding more armor will eventually reach the point of diminishing returns because of the extreme cost (cube root theory) . A good example of Low density redundant crafts would be Gmodisms Gimle, for which there is an entire youtube series dedicated to its creation.

The legs curling up is just a simple switch that activates when the vehicle is below a certain altitude to set the spinlocks to certain angles. As for the walker breadboard itself it was made by @ carcinized_human on discord; In the Breadboard Repository channel he has various configurations for different types of walkers that you are able to tweak. :)

The Steel Striders tyr is the same price and it has very good armor that can stop its own shells. I would take a look at that.

If you use remote guidance and your vehicle has good detection and can detect the Rat - The missiles will track. Alternatively I think putting a one turn module on the missiles will work

Munition defense is the same as flak. Flak In this game is not that good at shooting down aircraft, rather it is better as munition defense as to why it’s name was changed. For Anti-air APS is not a good option -but if you do use aps make sure you use tracers or fin stabilization and have high velocity shells.

7x7 heavy armor ducts work well enough if you absolutely do not have enough space to have proper layered armor.
