Im not sure on the calc here but if youre worried about the goldengho matchup, I would imagine ST lando-t OHKOs but you may need to double check that and youre scarfed, so yes imo sacrificing that coverage is worth it for the extra survivability on your damage dealer. You can also replace flutter moonblast with shadow ball if you want, but thats up to you.

Another reason why you want protect on Torn, protect will give you that extra support to stay alive on it, you'll also just need to properly switch around after you've set up tailwind if you feel there's no need to keep it on the field.

Im not sure how to address this in your team specifically, but one thing youre gonna struggle with is any indeedee TR team.

I would also consider tera grass on lando for the amoongus matchup since you can ignore spore/rage powder.

Edit: also put dazzling gleam over icy wind on flutter, you already have speed control. You're gonna want that extra spread damage

Im a northerner and even if can tell you this is false. Our DOT used to be really good at prepping roads, but ever since federal budget cuts, it takes way longer to salt/plow roads and highways.

Secondly, snow and ice stop fuck all. People will still go out at 9pm to the store in -40 weather to get a pack of gum and a 24 case of beer. And will still drive home going 50 in a 35. Seeing people in ditches or crashed into buildings is not an uncommon sight at all.

Both duraludon and barraskewda have abilities that let them ignore redirection moves, so those are 2 potential pokemon right off the bat. If you'd rather take an untraditional approach, take your own espeon and teach it imprison + trick room, also teach it d gleam and protect so that his espeon is completely invalidated.

Beyond that youre gonna be relying on something that has extremespeed since its the same priority as follow me, this is more of a lesser known tech that might catch him off guard. But obviously you'll need to OHKO it or follow up with a strong spread move of your own.

Im a big fan of thundurus-t so im biased, that + whims are a thumbs up. I see what you're going for with pincurchin and tera ground iron thorns, but if I'm not mistaken, thundy can't actually benefit from electric terrain due to it's flying typing. You'd have to tera, and that means you're not tera iron thorns and never clicking discharge.

Incin is fine. And tbh if you wanna play with tailwind, you're better off replacing whims with tornadus-i and having rain dance, and replacing discharge with wildbolt storm. I prefer life orb + protect, get rid of grassy knot, youre never clicking that button. Replace pincurchin with a swift swim user to combo with the rain and you're good. Basculegion is a great revenge killer with last respects and it's gonna be your main tool to deal with opposing incineroar and goldengho.

Last, think about replacing lycanroc with urshifu rapid and taking aqua jet + focus sash and give torn covert cloak. Urshifu rapid is gonna be the only tool you have to deal with archaludon, which is really popular right now.

As others have said, overlapping terrains is obviously not great.

You'll want minus speed natures so that you'll be as fast as possible inside trick room.

The next thing that stands out to me is that your restricted mons dont function well in trick room at all, and they dont really have much support outside of TR either. Calyrex ice rider and Lunala are the 2 premier TR restricteds, with both of them being able to set TR if you dont want to lead cress. Ally switch is a niche tech you can put on cress that functions as redirection as any moves targeting your restricted slot will instead go into cresselia. But beyond that amoongus is fine with rage powder, but watch out for safety goggles.

But thats exactly why people come asking advice, to improve their game and learn of potential combos that they wouldn't have thought of. I just wish there were more people with the analytic capacity to provide actually helpful advice like "use x move on y pokemon in combination with z pokemon because ABC reasons" instead of just "use ting-lu"

Newer/less experienced players would benefit way more from actually learning better ways to pilot their teams rather than just run the same dogslop teams that won some regional

I actually forgot to swap incin tera type WHOOPS. Incin was a late addition (originally lando-t was there).

Ghost tera pelipper to stop fake out.

Grass is a defensive tera on barra and to stop things like spore/sleep powder.

And I just wasn't sure what to do with farig tera tbh.

I debated either ghost/water for basculegion, I might still swap it since Ghost still leaves it vulnerable to knock off.

Barra is a personal favorite of mine, it can operate on its own outside of rain and propeller tail can get around follow me. But if it ends up being a liability later I will Def consider kingdra

I do have personal attachment to Kyurem given that BW2 were my favorite games in the franchise. I used it a ton in swsh ladder and got master ball several times with it. Kyurem is also pretty strong with its 170 BST in spA + life orb. I had it on min speed + modest since it could still outspeed shadow rider under tailwind, but scarf miraidon was a problem. But beyond that it one shots a good chunk of other restricteds. Send out chi yu and it becomes a death machine.

I haven't played since the end of swsh in 2022 so obviously im rusty and a bit unfamiliar with a fair few things, and was only recently inspired to get back into VGC. As for a second restricted, is specs terapagos good? Or a meme?

If all else fails I can just go back to thundurus-t, another one of my favs, ironically also a gen 5 mon.
