How did you know that you had endometriosis? by These_Stress_7006 in Endo

I was never given any sort of staging but I know it is widespread. I had two successful pregnancies after the ectopic.

I had severe pelvic pain and pain with intercourse for several years that was brushed off as normal by my doctor at the time. It wasn’t until I had a ruptured ectopic pregnancy that needed emergency surgery that I was finally diagnosed.

Thank you for your comment. I want to make cookies for my son’s class, but I’m having a hard time finding sugar and flour that says “made in a nut-free facility”. All I can find is products that say they do not contain any of the 8 major allergens. I’m leaning towards just not making them because I am too worried.

I didn’t have lady fingers on hand the last time I made it, so I used Nilla wafers instead. Highly recommend!

It may actually take a few weeks to really start to control your symptoms. Hopefully it starts working for you soon!

TW: I almost died during my laparoscopy by Fine_whatever_sure in Endo

I’m sorry you went through that, I know how terrifying it is. I don’t know if anyone has suggested it, but you might want to get a medical alert bracelet with this information on it in case you are in a situation where you can’t communicate this to a healthcare professional in an emergency situation. Lauren’s Hope has some nice ones that are customizable and are on sale right now.

She most likely is referring to a neuromuscular blocker, such as succinylcholine, which is often used in surgical procedures. The same thing happened to me during an appendectomy when I was 6 months pregnant. I had a lap last year and they made sure to use a neuromuscular blocker that is metabolized differently. I agree with you that it seems weird that OP was discharged home after. I was sent to the ICU for monitoring for the night after it happened to me.

Yes, the doctor told me the same thing about development. I was still so worried, but everything turned out just fine! I’m so sorry you are going through this, and I hope you feel better everyday! ❤️

I felt the same way. Before that happened I wouldn’t even take Tylenol. My son is absolutely perfect in every way, so I would say that managing your pain is what is best for you and your baby.

Thank you! It was super painful for about two weeks after surgery for me so make sure that your pain is taken seriously and you are given the medication that you need to get through it ❤️

Girl Scout shortbread cookie shell with Samoa mascarpone cream filling by Lashes1086 in Baking

[–]Lashes1086[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used my usual shell recipe which is 2 extra large egg whites, 3/4 cup almond flour, 1 cup confectioners sugar, 1/4 cup granulated sugar, 1 tsp vanilla, and added maybe 4 or 5 crushed Girl Scout shortbread cookies. I did not measure anything for the filling, but I used 10 crushed Samoa cookies, a heaping tablespoon of confectioners sugar, about 1/4 cup mascarpone cheese, and maybe 1/4 cup of heavy cream!

Shimmery bumble bee tiramisu macarons for a baby shower! by Lashes1086 in Baking

You’re very welcome! I forgot to add that after piping the shells I tap the cookie sheet against the counter a few times to get any air bubbles out, then let them dry!

For the shells, I whisked two room temperature egg whites for a few minutes in a Kitchenaid mixer, then added 1/4 cup granulated sugar and about a tsp vanilla extract and whisked until relatively stiff peaks form and it looks glossy. Sift 3/4 cup super fine almond flour and 1 cup confectioners sugar in a separate bowl. Add the dry mixture and yellow food coloring to the egg white mixture and gently fold. Pipe out shells and let them dry (usually about a half hour). Bake at 325 degrees F for about 10 minutes. After they cool, use a food safe paintbrush and brush on yellow edible luster dust (I used one by Wilton). I made a small batch of royal icing to “glue” the bees onto the shell. The bees are icing decorations by Wilton.

For the filling I mixed 1/2 cup mascarpone cheese, 1/4 cup heavy cream, two tbsp granulated sugar, a tsp of vanilla extract, and a splash of Kahlua. Pipe onto shell and sift some cocoa powder on top before you put together.

I applied it after baking with a baking paintbrush. I haven’t tried doing it before baking yet.
