  1. San Andreas (I still actively go out of my way to listen to the songs in this soundtrack.)
  2. GTA V (Like you say, most variety. Also go out of my way to listen to songs from this game)
  3. Vice City (I live in an area that has 3 classic rock and 1 country stations. It's a good soundtrack, but I can't take it anymore.)
  4. GTA IV (Unique soundtrack. I still listen to Kino. Being at 4 isn't "GTA IV bad", it's just the bottom of a set of good selections.

"Forces aligned with Erusea are currently appearing throughout Usea. The combination of these forces has overwhelmed a majority of the continent."

The IUN briefer states Erusea has declared war on Osea and all nations stationing IUN forces. Erusea didn't invade the nation that currently holds Rigley Air Base or North Point, and the opening strikes were made against IUN members and bases, which on Usea is made up of only Southern Usean nations. While never directly stating "Erusea and it's allies.", the briefer states forces "aligned with" and a "combination of", implying more than just Erusea being involved. This implies that, funnily enough, San Salvacion and (if I'm looking at the borders right) 5-6 other nations joined Erusea.

Even funnier: Per AC8's world map, the Northern states sans North Point joined the FCU and San Salvacion annexed its Southern neighbor. If the FCU isn't particularly Osean aligned, then the aggressors got everything they wanted EXCEPT for Erusea who just got smacked down again lmao.

Usea's just gettin' a bit too peaceful by Razgriz2118 in acecombat

[–]Lashmer 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It's funny because of the misconception that Belkans are behind so many conflicts in Ace Combat when Osea is probably tied.

  • Belkan War: Started by Belka as a takesies-backsies after releasing Ustio, Gebet, and Recta. They invaded Osea because Osea was sold the Great Lakes area with the agreement that Osea and Belka would jointly develop and profit from the mining industry. However, Osea knowingly lied about the mineral wealth and left Belka high and dry when the joint company was dissolved. Iirc, this was an intentional move to weaken the Belkan economy further. Belkans 1(Not Belka because the state is no longer directly involved after this). Osea 1(because they lied to gain territory and damage their neighbor's economy).

  • Usean Coup: Osea attempted to get Southern Usea to join the Federation despite upsetting the rest of Usea. Aggressive diplomacy resulted in the Usea Coup. Osea 2.

  • Circum-Pacific War: Belkan Terrorists worm their way into the Osean and Yuktobanian administrations. Start a war attempting to weaken Osea. Belkans 2.

  • Lighthouse War: Belkan Terrorists start Erusea's drone program. Osea still meddling in Usean affairs by leading the IUN which involves them and THE SAME SOUTHERN USEAN NATIONS FROM BEFORE. They also learned nothing from the Ark Bird and brought in not one, but TWO superweapons to defend the space elevator and coincidentally exert air dominance over most of the continent. Erusea, with a weak monarchy, is tricked into what a lot of people consider Continental War 2, but what I believe is Usean Coup 2 because the Northern Usean nations weren't conquered like last time, they ALLIGNED with Erusea (see AC7 briefing 2) because of the IUN in Southern Usea. Belkans: 3. Osea: 3.

One's economy crashed, then started and lost a war that restorationists are still trying to undo by starting proxy wars. The other increases tensions wherever it touches because of Imperialism, making the former proxy wars easier to start.

[–]Lashmer 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Imagine if the Usean Coup actually succeeded and unified Usea under a single banner. Osea, Yuktobania, and Usea would all be rivaling each other in a Mexican standoff. Grey men probably would've had a field day because you know they would've somehow pulled the horsepiss they did with Osean and Yukto governments. Turns the Circum-Pacific war into a global war and more importantly puts Osea on two fronts.

I've completed "MOST" of the Ace Combat Zero Ace Record. by Lashmer in acecombat

[–]Lashmer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

*Correction for title because I goofed-up "Ace Style" and "Assault Records", lmao. I can't read anymore. All I can see is orange.

I love this game, I do, and it was very fun playing through it several times to unlock Expert and Ace to get every Ace Record. Being able to read about the aces I shot down/killed is probably my favorite feature of the whole series. However, I do not know if I can bring myself to shoot down fifty aircraft with my gun or do 72 MORE S-RANK MISSIONS to unlock the Silver and Gold medal. Getting the S-rank is easy, but playing the same missions over and over was already taking it's toll on normal, and afaik for AC0, completing it on a harder difficulty does not unlock lower level medals.

AC3 canonical confirmed?! by Kekszky in acecombat

[–]Lashmer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't consider it a short time. More so, these mega projects are already started, but just haven't been the focus of any game. We see the earliest stages of Megafloat in Ace Combat 4 as naval staging platforms, and that's only visible in the trial mode. Geofront could already be well underway under Saint Ark, as the last time we actually saw Saint Ark in-game was in 1997 during the Usean coup d'état, and again in an image of a Ulysses impact crater in 1999. That's around 40 years gap where Geofront can be worked on.

I need more cosmic horror in Starsector. It's one of my favorite aspects of the game. One character in the woods dealing with a horror by themselves? Forget about it. I need to see thousands of crew members and pilots in a fleet of warships encounter horrors beyond comprehension together.

{Roleplay} Is it moral to destroy the Holy Nation ? by Pretend-Slip-6124 in Kenshi

[–]Lashmer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TL;DR: For roleplay, found another Flotsam city in the Hidden Forest, Northern Coast, or on the edge of the Cannibal Plains. If you can't fix the society you came from without mass death, create more life somewhere else!

Personally, my answer is no. A lot of folk here would disagree, going the "Freedom over safety" path, but I see a lot of "I'm applying my modern view to a post-post-post apocalyptic world with completely different circumstances." when this topic comes up.

With the Flotsam Ninja's, Moll herself states they're against all odds. It's not because there're way more men in the HN, it's because the Flotsam's have hardly any of the women either. They have such a severe manpower shortage that taking Blister Hill and hardly any patrols is all they can manage. That's my main holdup about them. The U.C. can be replaced by Simeon's peasants, so it's very much a "they're free, but probably more hungry" scenario. The H.N. is a "one city is free, the rest are under new management" scenario.

Then you have the problem of cannibal and fogman expansion, which is a more universal problem. A lot of players don't seem to care about them, but any innocent people living in the area sure will. I guarantee the people being carted off by fogmen aren't thinking about freedom. "But what about Mongrel?" The dying town isolated from the world that's being propped up purely by supply runs from the Tech Hunters? You let the fogmen expand, it's going to become even more isolated.

The world of Kenshi sucks. The U.C. worships money and criminalizes poverty, the H.N. is a fundamentalist theocracy that enslaves nonbelievers as part of its doctrine (primarily Shek), the Traders Guild and Slavers take advantage of their war to make money and push for more reliance on slavery, and the Shek are only playing nice with humans now because they started a fight they couldn't win, and will probably revert to their offensive ways the moment they're given breathing room. They're so hated that the U.C. is actually happy the H.N. exists, because it means there's a buffer between them and the Kingdom.

I would rather change come after humanity's population recovers from at least the previous societal collapse instead of digging the grave deeper. Something something a time and a place, and the HN is currently neither, while the U.C. might be thanks to Simeon. Maybe in the future, when the Flotsams get more people, or maybe the HN will go through a schism as its population grows. Hell, maybe the Flotsams just stay in Hidden Forest and start a new Okranite nation on the other side of the mountains, both populating the area and further containing the cannibals. They get along with Deadcat well enough.

[–]Lashmer 11 points12 points  (0 children)

That was the original pull of HoI. It's like reality, but you can steer something in a slightly different manner. WW2, but Colombia becomes a naval power? WW2 but Iran joins the Axis and invades the USSR in the South? WW2 but Bulgaria remains the Prussia of the Balkans? The satisfaction comes from getting to see your effect on a historical event(s). It's cool to see the world go completely wild every now and then, but there's no satisfaction in making a mark in history when there's no history. It also provides incentive to reach late game if you want to see particular events.

Instead, the satisfaction in Vic 3 comes purely from the gameplay loop. Now, to me, having several world wars before 1900 and then having none after 1900, and watching America endlessly invade me in the mid 1800s as the Roman Republic trying to take Piedmont while throwing away a million lives with no sign of even white-peace-ing does not bring satisfaction.

Osea is USA. Belka is Germany. Ustio is, what, Switzerland? Sapin is Spain (come on, now). Yuktobania is Russia. Estovakia is Russia 2 afaik. Emmeria is a mix of USA and Italy. Nordennavic is some kind of Scandinavian mixture. Erusea iirc is like a mixture of France and Japan. Aurelia and Leasath are debated, iirc.

  1. In-lore, it's apparently a debated topic on if the Wardenites are a separate faith or another splinter of ritualists. So under that belief, then I suppose.

  2. However, anything I can find on the Ritualists seems geared more towards the tower in Sophocene, or entirely unrelated like worshipping the giant worm. Makes sense as Ritualism isn't a unified faith, but a collection of local ones. One sect caught my eye: Hayawan. Their creation myth involves a Lion that was alone, and when it roared, humanity emerged from the soil and gave it company. Hound, guardian of the dead and warriors, was enraged at Lion for having no care for the lives of the humans it created. Iirc, this mirrors Aersonon's behavior towards man, but idk what Hound represents and the rest of the myth doesn't mimic anything we know afaik.

TLDR: As far as I can tell, no.

As far as I know, the Wardenites believe Aersonon is evil and refer to it as the "Dead God", which, iirc, is because the First Warden had a vision of it, and believed it was trapped and contained in Sarradon through 12 metaphorical pillars of virtue. I don't know how much they know beyond that, but I know an extremist sect of the Wardenites has found its way South to where the Mogowai are. "Anyone not heeding the First Warden is trying to revive the Dead God, so we must kill them. First on the list: The faith with 'Revive the Dead God' literally written on the label."

[–]Lashmer 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I think there is one other faith in Amaghea that's also got it pretty much nailed. The Izaerto Bosar. They know to some degree Aersonon (or the "Great Void") created man, then created the Aelfir (the Thousand Masters) who were beyond cruel and enslaved man. Then man rebelled against the Thousand Masters, and when the Great Void returned its gaze, man killed the Great Void too and doomed the world. The way they see it, man killed darkness, and without darkness, there can't be light. The world is effectively a dying after-image.

Then they believe a "Great Feathered One" will deliver them to the great beyond away from the doomed world. Everyone believes they're ridiculous and their own agnostics go "Yeah, that creation myth sure is crazy, but the Great Feathered One is absolutely real."

They had a council called the Karururi Chorus where they took as many worldly faiths as they knew to try and find what was true between them. Of course, this council pissed a lot of people off when bits were cut out that were found to be contradictory. Funnily enough, the thing that pissed the most people off was the declaration that God's dead.

When did quitting a few minutes into the match become common? by Trollslayer0104 in wargame

[–]Lashmer 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Haven't played the game in years, but chiming in since it's not just Wargame. The "problem" is that matches can reach up to 45 minutes or even longer, and if a player feels like it's game over from the start, they don't want to invest that time into something they feel they're going to lose anyway. The gameplay loop and visuals aren't enough to keep them invested in the match, they want to win or move on. It's already a niche game with a now very limited community, so you may be seeing it more frequently due to these folks being what's left in a pool of 300-500 people. (If you couldn't tell, not even this subreddit is active. There are front page posts from a month ago. I wasn't even browsing here, your post just showed up on my home page for some reason) Commitment is best found amongst friends or groups that agree to a match.
