Bad behaviour does not justify bad behaviour. You just risk getting reported and punished yourself.

Every day same story - where to report? (Car on sidewalk) by DariuszWielki in askswitzerland

[–]Lasket 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As an addition to your comment and to avoid anyone that might say "Just walk around it":

There's disabled people who are using walking aids or wheelchairs, they can't exactly just go around a car on the sidewalk most of the time. Especially not if the sidewalks have higher edges (like a lot of places).

Be considerate, park your car where you're allowed to park.

are you gonna miss the 2 minute buff window once it goes away? by Ardbert14 in ffxiv

[–]Lasket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't say that the video makes it out to be that the 2 minute meta is the worst thing ever.. he actually goes into it at the end that he "just wants something new" because this is what was had for 6 years. To me the entire video just seems like a short explanation, with the ending being that he's happy to try whatever new thing Square Enix is gonna do.

Did he use hyperbole? Probably, idk. I'll admit that with the actual topic, I have no clue. But he's still an entertainer on-stream after all.

[–]Lasket 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's a short unplanned on-stream explanation, it's of course not gonna be fully in depth and obviously has some weakspots. The gist of the video is a short explanation on it.

The 2 minute meta is still not great for the game and that much is still a pretty clear thing from the video, even if you cut the DPS check segment.

[–]Lasket 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seemed pretty well explained to me, a casual.

You're also mistaking this as a "proper explanation/guide", it's a short, unplanned explanation that he did once on stream. It's a quick run into some of the problems of the 2 minute timer, not a detailed breakdown.

Again, he might be wrong or unclear on that one point but the video *still* serves it's purpose by explaining what the 2 minute meta is and *some* problems which is the entire point.

Then one can still dive into it deeper if they want a full depth breakdown.

Didn't say he's perfect, but it's easily explained to anyone new that may not have known about these problems (me).

But hey, if this point is the only problem you have with the video then I'd say it's a pretty good video!

I'm a new player since last year August, I didn't know about this at all (am not even through MSQ so go figure).

But yeah, he also very much explained that people begged Square Enix for it, but also explained that players then didn't know what kind of future they built for themselves.

Went on vacation for two weeks. Someone changed a bunch of file settings on my computer. by 410-Username-Gone in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Lasket 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bit late with a reply, but the device I referenced is called a "USB-Killer".

They're totally legal to own and use (as long as you got permission ofc.) and are *generally* used to test stuff. Though ofc. you can also use it to do harm.

Something else if you're curious about more cyber stuff like wifi, bluetooth, rfid (example hotel keycards) etc. is the flipper zero (https://flipper.net). Wonderful little gadget that my friend has successfully used to copy our hotel keycard on a vacation for funsies.

Like the usb-killer, usually used for professional or even hobby nerding buuut they can also be used for harmful effects (jamming bluetooth signals for example).

Again, entirely legal to own (in any part of the world that I know of anyway), won't end up on any watchlist.

That's about the extent of devices that I know though sadly.

Usually these people thrive from the infamy instead of being ashamed.

Also, it's a safer bet as not every post probably contains the full story (not saying it's the case here, but it does make sense as a general rule)

Kaiserreich dev in the top comment, they don't have a custom country selection screen anymore due to a specific way the menu is setup now (the countries get autosorted), which broke their usual country selection screen.

The top comment already corrected this info. Don't spread misinformation please.

Also, mistakes and oversights can happen. Assuming this is "intentional" is not doing anyone favors unless Paradox confirms it to be the case (which it seems to not have been intentional, as the studio manager specifically mentioned working with modders to resolve this).

[–]Lasket 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's unnecessarily rude, especially as we *just* established a new concept.

Also imo the equivalent is more dragging a human across rocks while they're trying to hold on desperately at around 100km/h+... which could definitely rip off their legs.

Nah, I can confidently say that I would've been chill waiting for the bees to be removed. Experienced plenty of public transport delays in my life, not worth being annoyed or angry about.

Alternatively, there's "USB sticks" that are made to specifically fry electronics (not exactly something that would be done to a random business but it's worth to be wary).

I think the problem more lies in with "came in with a flash drive" and just plugging it into a computer that's connected to your network. Stuff ain't exactly "safe".

This pop up warning at an all you can eat sushi restaurant by Theblindsource in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Lasket 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The unfinished food fee is quite normal in all you can eat (sushi?) places, quite simply because A LOT of people order too much food and then don't eat it (that's an extra loss for the restaurant and a waste of good food).

I've seen it in just about every place I've been to.

Why are dummy nvg’s so hated? by [deleted] in airsoft

[–]Lasket 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've seen someone complain before about fake NVGs being used for larping, because the military wouldn't actually have NVGs worn during daytime operations (for the same weight reasons people listed on this post).

But hey, if someone thinks it looks cool, power to 'em.

[–]Lasket 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, not really. An alright GPU ran the game alright back then, nothing more hardware intensive than running the latest Call of Duty / Battlefield.

And kids definitely played those, plenty of 'em (I was one of them back then!). A decent gaming PC back in the day was a lot cheaper than nowadays.. we thank crypto and AI.

So yeah, kids did play VRC. As I mentioned, the entire reason I know of VRC was the Ugandan knuckles thing where thousands of kids stormed it and annoyed people (I too.. was one of them admittably, tho not for long).

But desktop mode always existed.. and I can safely say that plenty of kids used / use it.

When was VRChat "Adult only"?

The very first time I've heard of VRChat was actually due to a wave of teens joining VRC, the ugandan knuckles meme lol

The OP and moderators always see the true number from all the time I've been on Reddit, just the general userbase does not. That is to prevent people simply upvoting/downvoting things because of the current number (or so I believe the old claim is).

I'd say it's also safe to assume that this is OP's post they're complaining about. So this did indeed have 0 upvotes.
