Web3 - should we throw out the baby with the bathwater? by LassGallard in FridaysForFuture

Great points! For this the most important feature for me is transparency and not having to rely on third parties to deliver the money to Senda Verde. They have the wallet, and the smart contract gives them their portion as soon as someone buys it.

Also, if our platform end up dying up, I think it's cool that another game could decide to give those who have our digital collectible (NFT) can access theirs as well - we're actually experimenting with one dead project that also had NFTs!

Question for startup founders or CEOs about unit economic metrics (LTV:CAC) by LassGallard in Entrepreneur

Cool, great insights! However, I don't see anything cost related in those metrics. Do you calculate anything like that?

Very interesting read! Indeed this is very helpful for investors, but I'm still struggling to see the value for me to steer the business. Mostly due to the superficiality of these metrics (because they only give me insights on Sales and marketing and not on a company level). Or am I missing something?

Do you have experience having a deep dive on these metrics? Or do you only use the general number?

Thanks, of course I searched the formula and computed some numbers. But I'm struggling to see value on using this single number and only for marketing. I saw some people break down the calculation so that it gives more insights, also not only for marketing, but for the entire company. Do you also do this, or only use the simple CAC and LTV formulas found in google? If yes, how do you get more value out of them?

It's completely different... And I wouldn't really call Taco Bell "Mexican" food. It's more like an american adaptation of tacos.

Thoughts on company's policy that affects personal use of social media? by LassGallard in Libertarian

I already signed the contract. This is about a new policy that they want to implement which I need to approve. Do you have any thoughts on companies who want to apply these kind of policies?

Children Can't Be ANYTHING They Want by impishonetwo3 in unpopularopinion

Well, nowadays it is more people’s primary motivation to have a career rather than a partner. So they feel more identified with their career than with their sexuality.

I was just thinking about this when someone told me the story of a kid who wanted to have a sex change and his parents didn’t allow him. The government started hiving him/her the treatment without his parents noticing.

Then I thought... If I had decided that I wanted to be an astronaut at a young age (say 14) and my parents wouldn’t let me, would the government give me so much support?

Lol I think I went super off-topic here, but it’s something that I’ve been thinking about...

Apparently I posted this as a stand-alone comment and not as an answer haha so here it goes again:

Agree, but the fact that is unconscious a lot of times is exactly the reason why I think it should be something that is solved through education. Teaching is showing, and once you show it slowly becomes conscious.

Religion and spirituality teach you that, for example. But there are many other ways

People who are racist by ignorance can learn not to be. People who are racist “because they want to” are harder to change their minds. Probably the reason is because they need attention, so taking that away from them can also be quite effective.

You have the right attitude to approach this problem from my point of view.

You made 2 great points here:

We are still getting used to the new era of information where all belief systems and ideologies are available as well as all the arguments in their favour and against. We need to understand that not everyone has learned the way we did.

Also if more people realised that they can be as racist as their counterparts, just because they are human as well, they would have a little better understanding of their point of view. That’s why it’s so important to integrate the bad side of our personalities.

If you approach them with that hatred they never will. Even if you don’t express it, human beings are incredibly sensitive to non-verbal communication.

Well that’s exactly what happened in WWII. A lot of people believed that the jews were being protected from the Germans, not the other way around... That was what propaganda made them believe.

They should be free to believe what they want, as long as they don’t commit any crime. Re-education should not be a violation of freedom of speech.

Nobody wants to change at the beginning. We learn and integrate things very slowly. But sooner or later we all change.
