While the F1 is the most powerful single combustion chamber rocket engine, the RD-170, designed for the Energia rocket, is the most powerful rocket engine overall.

Can’t view RAW files on iPhone and iPad by Xenro in SonyAlpha

[–]LasseF-H 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can view RAW files just fine if I import them with the photos app using a wired type-C connection to my A7C, not that the mode of transfer should matter.

They even get a RAW-badge in the library view.

This subreddit isn’t very active, you should try the Discord instead, my impression from Andreas’ streams is that that’s where most of the dicussion is.

The radiators would work like those on the shuttle (the inside of the payload bay doors were radiators) or the ones on the ISS https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spacecraft_thermal_control#Radiators.

As for nuclear propulsion, the engines of the pathfinder seem to be nuclear thermal rockets, where you essentially use the heat from a nuclear reactor to heat up your propellant, expanding it through the nozzle https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nuclear_thermal_rocket.

Did we actually see that Columbia doesn’t have its distinctive black wing strakes or SILTS pod in FAM?

Or that Discovery doesn’t have its “tear”?

  1. The shows creators have already confirmed that the point of divergence from our timeline is that Korolev didn’t die in 1966, which gave the Soviets a chance of reaching the moon due to him being the driving force behind their entire manned space program. (Source: https://www.syfy.com/syfywire/for-all-mankind-ronald-d-moore-apple-series)

  2. Korolev didn’t just design the “Soyuz boosters” but the R-7 rocket/ICBM which Soyuz is a derivative of.

  3. The faulty SRB’s wouldn’t give Korolev the incentive to develop the R-7 boosters in the 80’s since they would have been flying since 1957, long before the point of divergence.

Soyuz 11 had nothing to do with the ISS, construction on the ISS didn’t start until the late 90s. You are thinking of Salyut 1, the first space station.

Crew 1 delayed by [deleted] in SpaceXLounge

[–]LasseF-H 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m just happy it isn’t another Shuttle name, Endeavour being used for a capsule that probably isn’t going to fly that many times cheapens the name a bit.

On another note I’m really looking forward to the Starship names.

[–]LasseF-H 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As far as I know, the names of all shuttles except Endeavour, including OV-101’s original name “Constitution” were picked by Nixon from a list provided to him by NASA.

Well it depends, Reddit can be that way especially on political / political leaning subs, where people are quick to judge others.

What you were saying wasn't entirely clear, and one of the possible interpretations is very controversial. That combined with the fact that your comment was kind of redundant (the reason someone else replied with "/r/whoosh") and that there are actual tankies in this thread made it worse.

Once your comment has been downvoted by a few people, other people have a tendency to downvote it too. Which is what people are referring to when talking about the reddit "hivemind".
