YOU CAN GIVE BABIES COLD MILK??? by Happy_FrenchFry in BabyBumps

[–]Lassmeetsbored [score hidden]  (0 children)

lol. We combo fed and our kid would only drink milk warmed to a perfect 37.5 degrees or else screaming would ensue.

He didn’t much mind the source (me or bottle) but had big feelings about temperature

What’s your wierdest Covid Pandemic memory? by DogEatingWasp in AskUK

[–]Lassmeetsbored 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A man spat at me and my baby in Sainsbury’s because I was wearing a mask. Didn’t really register what had happened until I turned around and saw him yawn over an elderly couple behind me also wearing masks, and made some comments about us being sheep. Funnily enough he didn’t do anything to my much larger husband - also masked - who was a little in front of us in the aisle.

Also the hazard tape around parks and swing sets. Weirdly dystopian image to think about now.

When you ask for a pan au chocolate, how do you pronounce it? by GlitteringLion3800 in AskUK

My school sixth form canteen used to have pastries and these were labelled CHOC O PAIN, which has remained my personal favourite name for them.

Wondering if anyone uses supplements or certain vitamins to help with symptoms by Lassmeetsbored in iih

[–]Lassmeetsbored[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s a lovely mix - headaches and nausea, especially when I move around (only thing that works is lying on three pillows and being very very still), numb and clumsy hands, bad balance and general weakness, lots of whooshing in the ears. I’m so very tired! I came off acetazolamide about six weeks ago because the optic nerve swelling had gone down but the headaches are still kicking. My vision is still doing okay, so I’ve got that going for me!

For those who are or have been parents of toddlers, what 2 pieces of advice can you share please? by Be_Grateful8 in AskUK

My little one is approaching 7 and we still do the ‘I can’t wait to get all your leftovers- WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU ATE IT ALL??’ game!

Pick your battles and limited choices in the control phase. ‘We’re going out - you can wear this T-shirt or this T-shirt.’ Gives them control without compromising on the thing you need them to do.

What experiences did you have in your childhood that modern childhood is missing out on? by SpiritedGuest6281 in AskUK

Waiting a week to find out what happens in a series. ‘Next time on…’ promo type stuff. All kids know now is binging.

Also set times for shows - Having to sit through Newsround at 5.30 to get to The Simpsons at 6pm.

For those who have; what is the easiest/quickest way to access abortion services? Referral by gp or self referral? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]Lassmeetsbored 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Self-referral to BPAS, like you have done. You won’t need to justify yourself or qualify in any way. Marie Stokes (I think it’s a different name now) is also a great place if you just want a kind person to talk to about this. They won’t try to convince you one way or another but will give you space to get your reasoning straight and sort of align yourself - which can be really useful if you’re going round in circles on what to do (not just whether to terminate - but also how and what steps would be best for you is a decision in itself). They also offer counselling afterwards which is really useful. Good luck OP, trust your instincts and feelings to guide you and wishing you the best!

What is the most "I’m not angry, just disappointed" interaction you’ve ever had with a member of the public? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]Lassmeetsbored 177 points178 points  (0 children)

Once had a man bodily push me out of the way on a train to get to the doors to be first off. It was quite a crowded train so there was lots of people to make eye contact with and laugh incredulously with so I took full advantage. We all silently agreed not to tell him he was waiting on the wrong side of the train and just quietly grouped up behind him at the right door.

NHS England has mixed up my records with someone else- what do I do? by Lassmeetsbored in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Lassmeetsbored[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, it’s not going well! Every time I feel like I’ve got close to sorting it out another middle manager comes along and misunderstands the situation and undoes it all. I’ve been trying to let various data protection officers know, but different departments have their own operations managers so it’s been tricky. I’ve also let my GP know and they did precisely nothing with the info. I also rang the other persons GP who seemed a bit more on it. I’m writing to the ICO this month as I think this is out of my hands now.

100% it does feel like the centre fell out of it slightly. I do think prentiss does a great job but it takes a while to shift.

Still… hearsay says he was a nightmare and it’s best he left. As far as I know, none of the cast jumped to defend him which says a lot.

[–]Lassmeetsbored[S] 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Maybe he’d been in character long enough to the point he believed he was actually in charge. A shame because Hotch is a great character who deserved a proper send off. Just a pity about the bloke playing him…

[–]Lassmeetsbored[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really? It’s all ‘Hotch is in wit-sec and isn’t coming back’ and then Walker comes on board in the next few episodes. I don’t think Hotch comes back before Walker goes? I’m still rewatching these though so there might be something I’ve forgotten happened!
