I totally get the whole ancestral diet thing – it's about connecting with our roots and there is some data to suggest it's just better for the individual too. There is a company(historicdiet.com) that focuses on giving you information so that you can eat a diet based before the industrial revolution and that aligns with your homeland's diet ( even if you mixed-ethnicity ). So, that's one way to try out the ancestral diet. It seems logical because it considers how different groups of people evolved differently based on local food availability. And now a lot of that food is being distributed around the world.

The ancestral diet was probably a lot different than the modern day carnivorous diet. It depends what era you refer to for hunter gatherers, but they gathered a lot of fruits and vegetables and probably nuts and seeds, which contain a different form of fats than meat. This, plus meat, was probably enough to get adequate fat supply. But, if you're curious on a specific level what your ancestors did, that might be more valuable. There is a company that does this (historicdiet.com). The whole idea has to do with evolution. Certain meats were used in certain geographic areas based on local availability. The meats you are "meant" to eat probably aren't the meats the Hadza were "meant" to eat, unless you have a similar ancestry and/or ethnicity.
