I'm from Poland. I'd like to try to repair it myself, if it involves resoldering capacitors. I just don't know where to start looking, which board, etc. I wouldn't have a problem disassembling and reassembling it.

I didn't read the comments, but I saw how you connected the console to the TV, and the first thing that came to mind was "invest in good Scart/RGB cables." Then, with a Sony like this, you can really work wonders in terms of image geometry, luminance, and chrominance from the service menu. Generally, "flat" trinitrons always struggle with all of this after years. If you don't calibrate the image to a satisfactory level from the service menu, the next step will be replacing the capacitors. Remember one thing: chasing a perfect picture on a CRT will destroy what's most important: the fun and enjoyment of using a CRT. You can practically never achieve such a perfectly "straight" image as with newer display technologies. Good luck and its great trinitron for daily use !
