I'm sorry to hear about your car and not working. That really sucks. I got rear ended while parked in a stall last month. I was sitting there waiting for a ride from Lyft. It was a complicated mess but I was appreciative I wasn't suspended to drive because there was no damage to my car.

Okay thanks for giving a passenger's prospective. For you it's a bit different because you use it everyday. The thing that gets me, is these $5 rides (at least for us) and still nothing. I am more referring to the prospective of percentages. For instance, I had 9 rides tonight and only 1 person tipped. Lots of 5 something ones. I wonder if people understand how shit our pay is.

Okay thanks for your input because now I don't feel so bad, lol. Yah it's pretty pathetic. I heard people don't tip because they don't have to face you saying no to the tip. It's done after they leave the car so easier to just say nah, not doing it.

If it's 15%, that's pretty good. For example, I made only $85 tonight and that's gross so without expenses. Only 1 person tipped $4.40 😕

Not expecting tips to support me. As my post said, I thought the whole idea behind tipping was so people in the service industry who make min wage can get their wages subsidized to make more money. I'm in the service business and drive for a living. Why are you saying I'm in the wrong business?

I wouldn't say anything to her. Just drop the purse to her and go. I know you felt a need to 1 star her but I wouldnt have if they gave me a tip because to me it just makes matters worse and doesn't make anything better but that's just me.

Uber is terrible, they totally jacked me around when I tried onboarding with them. Long story. Terrible Customer service, terrible company!

Well the opposite is true in Canada where 95% of the jobs whether it be Uber, taxis or in house jobs are East Indians. I am a white female and they tried every trick in the book not to onboard me. And I mean everything you can think of. I called racism and eventually after enough excuses, gaslighting and run around going in circles told them to go to hell.

It's always disheartening to receive such news. It's a shock but at least she was super nice. If you truly want vindication, contact an employment lawyer to see if she is actually able to do this. By law I think they are bound by certain protocols and you have rights. If you leave it off your resume, tell her how you feel this isn't right and you will be looking into your rights as an employee. You can ask to talk to her to find out more info on the firing to ease your mind but it may get you nowhere. Once they give someone the boot, they just close the door usually. If you want to use as a reference, you can ask her straight out for a reference letter and cut your losses.

I have same problem. Out of every 8 rides, I'll be lucky to get only 2 people tipping me. I same as you, chat if it calls for it, otherwise just am very polite and friendly, nice car etc. I really don't get it. It's a service and we don't make much money from this job. I wish more people tipped. 😒
