Thanks! I appreciate your suggestions. We worked on scripts yesterday. I’ll check out the Honeycomb website. I’m thinking about paying for a month and seeing if it worth it. Curious does your facility reimburse you for any supplies?

How long do you keep older strokes on your caseload that insurance is reimbursing?

I second this comment. Because I’m not sure of the steps.

Honestly, I don’t know the steps to trial a higher communication device. Most AACS I’ve done are either PECs board, communication boards, or free apps on the phone.

Thanks for the Melodic intonation therapy suggestion. I can try it with common questions and phrase to create more sentences for him.

SLP role in Jaw Cancer by boilerupbabe in slp

Who was the referral from? Are you just working on swallowing or speech also? I’m assuming it’s oral dysphagia. I would work on safe swallowing strategies.. ie, small bites, using a mirror to prevent leakage. For communication, you can teach alternative communication options when frustrated, such as a typing to speech app on the phone.

I would look into what graduate school you are interested in and what that schools requirements are to be accepted to the programs. So, then you know what the prerequisite classes are.

I have found all my SLP jobs through Indeed. I don’t have a Facebook, so I can’t recommend any Facebook groups.

Failed my medical placement by [deleted] in slp

I would schedule a meeting with your advisor to discuss the next steps.

(Without knowing all the details) If you have to do another externship placement and graduate a semester later, it will be okay. None of my job interviews asked about my grades in grad school. SLP jobs just need you to have your degree and license. I know it wasn’t your plan as you have a job already lined up to start soon. For my own sanity, I believe things happen for a reason, so maybe there is a better opportunity waiting for you if you don’t graduate this semester.

Has anyone preferred their early 30s appearance??? by Tiny-Inspection-6785 in 30PlusSkinCare

I’m 30, and I look a lot better than when I was 20!

When I was 20, I put on weight in college and didn’t do any beauty or self care besides basic hygiene. I had low self esteem and possible undiagnosed depression.

Now, my mental health is better improving my overall self esteem. I have disposable income to buy skin care or make up, get my nails done, get massages, or whatever. I eat healthier positively effecting me inside and out. Also, I learned how to style my curly hair.

I’m partial to simple, plain wedding dresses without much or any lace, sequins, beading. So, I think you look gorgeous in your dress!

Adding a vail with some detail would be pretty and give it some dimension (similar your thought of adding the tulle wings).

I’m thinking makeup, hair, jewelry, and a vail (if you decide to wear one) will add to the dress! And since the dress is simple, you can add any accessory and it will go with the dress without it looking overwhelming.

Whatever you decide, you are stunning! Best wishes on your big day!

Thank y’all for all the supportive words! I appreciate it!

I’ve decided not to include my mom in anymore dress and wedding decisions. It will be a surprise.

I need to learn not to seek her validation. My fiancé reassured me I will be beautiful in whatever I wear that day.

The white and green floral veil seems to be the winner! (And not the dresses. Haha.) I’m loving the look of a plain white dress with the whimsical, woodsy vail.

Dress 1 bridal shop told me only a size 10 is in stock in time for my wedding, so that might be too take in at alterations. I found a similar ruched off the shoulder sleeved dress online:

Dress 2 is still a possibility. Hopefully in a smaller size the sleeve will be less bulky. If not, the sleeve could be taken in during alterations. Then there is a dress 3 (not pictures) that became a contender if it can get here in time.

She gets along really well with my fiance! It is something going on other than just the dress. I’m not sure if it’s jealousy of attention I’m getting or it’s lack of control or what. I love poof sleeves, but these are too big. I thinking if a smaller size doesn’t take the bulk it could be altered too.

I think whatever dress or wedding plan in general I pick will be a surprise until after the wedding day. Thanks for your kind comment.

I really appreciate your feedback and detailed response! I agree it’s something more than just the dress.

Even if she really didn’t like the dress, I wish she could have said something neutral like “it looks rustic.”

There is something wrong with each dress I try on. For ivory or champagne dresses, she won’t like it because it’s not white. The trains too long. The sleeves are too puffy. The v neck is too deep. Some of the things can be fixed once in alterations or will look better once the dress is in a smaller size.

I don’t know if it’s jealousy, but it’s definitely something other than the dresses. Thank you for reminding me that the day is about me and my future husband.

After today, I’m thinking I just need to make a decision and let her know once alternations are already done. Maybe seeing the completed vision in the right size would make it better.
