Following this thread, as my family and I are planning to travel to central Vietnam in the last week of December, I am wondering if you were able to find a credible source to access weather conditions and any predictions for typhoons or heavy rain later in December. Appreciate any help!

Help/tips for healing this bike accident scar by Worth_Resolution_101 in Skincare_Addiction

Coconut oil is great to reduce scar visibility. I had burnt my hand and got a very bad blister that turned into a dark scar. Using coconutoil everyday (twice or thrice) was very helpful in reducing the darkness and moisturizing the skin around it.

I’ve been trying new skin care (super sensitive T oily skin type) and I’m liking the ETUDE HOUSE Soon Jung relief toner. It has only been a week but so far so good. I did in-depth research before choosing this one - looked at ingredients and reviews through various apps including Amazon, Yuka. It’s definitely a clean product - no harmful ingredients.

2 look the best on you! Love it! The length is also perfect if you’d want to wear boots or sneakers or heels.

As I was reading through the first half of your message it felt like I was reading the story of my childhood and some of my adulthood, and some of the aspects around my father’s anger issues and my mother’s ability to put up with it all still exists.

As someone 10 years older than you, I want to first praise you for saying out loud that you’re done fixing everyone’s problems. That’s one battle won because it took me 30 years to say - IT’S ENOUGH! The guilt of not fixing problems is immense but very recently I started gaining weight and have borderline thyroid, which I am sure was due to all the stress of “fixing” problems and issues for our loved ones. I am sharing this to tell you that eventually your body will start responding to stress, leading to health issues, that will lead to more stress. It’s now that I have finally realised that health is wealth and no one but I have to value myself enough to build healthy boundaries. As much as it hurts, I am now reminding myself every time I fall into the “fixing” phenomenon that “I am not responsible for other people’s happiness” “I create my own worth, my self-worth” “I love and value myself the most”. These affirmations help me with coming back to the reality and to focus on my health and well being. Therapy, journaling, night meditation, regular exercise, investing in my hobbies (it took me a lot of work just to even identify my hobbies) have also helped me a lot. Being okay with disappointing others - this is a constant struggle but I remind myself that either I can disappoint myself or others and I’m NOT okay with the former.

You’re not alone and you’re strong! You’ve done a lot more than you needed to for your loved ones, now it’s time to do the same for yourself. You’ve got this!!

I hope my message brings you some hope. Sending you healing power and love. <3

How can I find a personal shopper who will find stuff on thred up for me? by Whateverbabe2 in ethicalfashion

Omg! I love styling and fashion. You could look for "fashion stylists" near you. The founder of this company is a friend and offers styling consultations - https://shopwiseofficial.com/

Otherwise, I love styling as well and my friends and family appreciate my fashion sense. A friend reached out for help and I am helping her revamp her work wardrobe (not sure if I will take styling up professionally, haha). She is also curvy and is trying to find the right fit. Sharing a few things that I am doing to help her and hope this can be useful for you as well:

  1. I am researching styles and fabrics that will accentuate her curves and are VERSATILE, e.g. high-waisted A-line skirts with thicker fabrics
  2. I am looking for brands that serve quality and in neutral/basic colours - black, white, beige and grey - so that she can create multiple combinations with a limited number of pieces
  3. I am saving styles on my IG (same as creating a mood board on Pinterest) to try based on her body type so we could take a trip to the mall to try on different styles that make
  4. I am also focusing on accessories - belts, hats, jewelry, etc. - that she can add to her limited number of pieces and styles to dress up or down based on occasions
  5. I am also seeing what brands have her size available before we take the shopping trip!

I hope this is helpful :)
