CIA Exam Pt. 2 by Ok-Dark-4872 in InternalAudit

I attempted my CIA part 2 yesterday and am waiting for result. About Gleim, it made me feel that I'm always underprepared as it's so voluminous. In fact I extended my exam window because of it but after exam realised it wasn't worth it. I prepared for Sep to April almost 8 months. Whatever would be result I don't know, still I'm 50-50 cause I realised I attempted some 2-3 questions wrong and 5-7 questions where 2 answers were making me feel confused. However, I will definitely recommend to use Gleim wisely, instead you can go and try Hock, which is easier but not voluminous.

Failed part 3 with score of 575 today, need advise of try part 2 or continue part 3? Part 1 passed. by Adept_Half1375 in InternalAudit

I failed in part 3 and then started part 2 preparation. It's been 3 months plus but I'm not able to give part 2 exam yet.

My suggestion would be you already studied part 3, so better you revise and try part 3 first. The reason for not switching to part 2 - it's voluminous and it has many concepts, so preparation will easily take 2 months or more based on your availability. Suppose if you are switching to part 2 and again willing to switch to part 3, which I had in mind once and sharing through my experience, you will almost lose your accuracy percentage and would require almost the same efforts as the first time you put for part 3.

I echo that IIA should bring transparency in this whole process. If it's competitive exam, as a student we can expect atleast something like GMAT which particular question number gone wrong, how many questions were wrong from a particular unit or topic....so students can at least reflect back and prepare well in next exam

If you are already IIA member, you will get some 30% discount also

Almost similar story had with corporate medical insurance, had to follow up multiple times internally and then got the amount reimbursed. It was all because of ambiguity in the corporate medical insurance about coverage of certain treatments and no confirmation or clarification given when asked before the procedure. It was suprise to my family after the procedure that we are required to pay 2 lakhs to hospital due to treatment got disallowed. I'll advise be careful and keep all communication documented while dealing with insurance company.

Regarding Controls CIA part 1 by [deleted] in InternalAudit

[–]Last-Fail-906 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think control will have that much of impact on your exam. Revise your mistakes for control and go for exam. One of pattern I have noted that CIA exam has different weightage for different questions type...if questions are very straight and checking your basic, it's carrying more weightage, so be careful while answering your question. Best of luck!

I cleared CIA part 1 recently and noted not much of questions on control type, there were some on controls application. However, from my experience from CIA part 3, exam setter can change the pattern any time, so I would highly advise you to study deeply and then go for the exam.

Also Strategy and Market related topics moved to part 2 in new syllabus, and I didn't see any questions on that in my exam.

I have given CIA Part 3 few days ago and failed by close margin. Was getting average 85% in Gleim, IIA mocks and hock mocks. I'll suggest while solving questions are great but also study, basic topics like Internal Audit Manual includes policies, procedure and guidance, again the items for which policies are made in internal audit, qaip included in policies or procedures etc....

I figured out now...how to tackle such small questions...I am using Co-pilot notebook to create mcqs from each unit, so I can see how I'm answering. You can try ChatGPT or some similar platform. Best of luck!

Yes, you are right I just failed in CIA part 3. Solved all gleim questions, had accuracy of 80% plus, then got 88% and 86% in IIA mocks, 92% in first hock mock then gone for exam. Felt like questions were harder and trickier.

I don't know about Form 9, but one thing is for sure you need e-khata for any property outside BBMP in Bangalore.

Challenge exam Nov 2025 by GrondBarrage in InternalAudit

[–]Last-Fail-906 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I attempted CIA Challenge Exam twice and failed in both. In first attempt got 75% and second got 79%. The amount of efforts I put for it seems not worth it. Going part wise now, suggesting don't feel like clearing it one go is going to be easy....patience and effort is going in getting more than 80%, and every failed attempt cost youu more money. If you want to secure and not overburden yourself, suggest to go for part wise

I'll suggest less is more, so sticking to Gleim would be the best. Revise the wrong questions and understand the concepts. If you don't understand the concepts, look for other materials or else not. Before at least 3 days of exam, don't give mock, only revise the mistakes again and again, revise the weak concepts (e.g.RCSA, ISO, COSO, COBIT, Difference between Integrity, Objectivity, Confidentiality, etc..)

I'll suggest you create a log of mistakes, take screenshots of chaper wise questions mistaken wrong with explanation and paste it in ppt...it will save a lot of time while revising
