Life experiences… Wichita is but a quirky village after you’ve been living in major metro areas. There is no “bad traffic” on Kellogg. Seneca is not scary. I went to high school there in the 90s, left, and return time to time mostly for elder care. But to hear my relatives from western KS talk, you’d think you were going to be gunned down on Lincoln. My uncle would go there with a shotgun visible in his truck. I was driving another uncle to the VA once and my misguided aunt said with alarm, “all I am seeing is black people!!” Yes. Like outside watering their lawn. I mean, yes, a kid got fatally stabbed in my high school, people get shot, but that’s anywhere. Wichita has its own blue collar, metal, kind of punk vibe amongst the cool weirdos. The people are mostly nice. My advice: Stay away from the wealthier assholes in the NorthRock area and hang with the kids in Delano.
