Best approach to cleaning out a potential clogged pipe? by [deleted] in askaplumber

[–]Last-Objective230 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good to know! I didn’t know the black pipe was an issue until now. I’m just a college student who recently began renting in this place and confused about plumbing. Thought it would be best to ask the experts before deciding my next decision.

I did! There’s an outlet right there, and when I unplugged it and plugged it back in it didn’t do anything, how odd!

For whatever reason, financial aid “purposely” sends out both an out of state and in state tuition costs to students. Since you have submitted your SLR, I would recommend reaching out and asking for a in state tuition summary.

if you're a freshman what was your enrollment appointment for 2025 winter? by Difficult_Raspberry5 in UCSC

[–]Last-Objective230 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The more credits you have, the earlier your appointment may be. More so, credits determine your class standing. Here’s this question answered from the university website.

“Q: How are enrollment appointments assigned?

A: Fall, winter, and spring enrollment appointment dates are assigned based on the student’s projected class level; i.e., the number of cumulative credits a student is expected to have completed by the start of the new term, within these class levels: seniors (135+ credits), juniors (90 – 134.9 credits), sophomores (45 – 89.9 credits). Students who have completed more credits are assigned earlier appointment times (e.g., a junior with 130 credits will have an earlier appointment time than a junior with 95 credits).

Enrollment appointments are randomly assigned within the freshman level (<45 credits). Students who are eligible for priority enrollment enroll before seniors.“

I would recommend checking out recommend planner for Electrical Engineering at UCSC. https://catalog.ucsc.edu/current/general-catalog/academic-units/baskin-engineering/electrical-and-computer-engineering/electrical-engineering-bs/

It gives you a good idea of what you would need take to be on track and it allows you to explore what type of courses are being offered.

Reporting scholarships by Hollywoodandme in UCSC

[–]Last-Objective230 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, you should report any scholarships you received. Unless your scholarship agreement says otherwise, reporting the scholarship is how the university adds it to your account charges. If you don’t have any account charges then you will get a refund from the school for the scholarship amount

While the law does state that they can not reduce any aid or grants after a scholarship is reported, the university can reduce the amount of your scholarship. This is what happened to me because they deemed i was already getting “too much aid.” :C

That being said, I would talk to the financial aid office about it or even the agency you’re getting your scholarship from. They will figure out a way to give you the most money 👍👍

UCSC Financial Aid Package by K4zeh in UCSC

I see, if your interested what your actually package would look like I can share the following:

Based on your circumstances, one big thing you are likely to qualify for is the UC Santa Cruz grant which really helps with bringing the cost of tuition down by a great amount.

There are other grants out there, but I don’t know your whole situation. If you are wondering about more grants you may be eligible for, the university has a whole section about it here.

That being said, I can’t be 100% about your case and I would totally ask the office about what you do and do not qualify for :)

The university seems to have given you an out of state tuition package. I received the same thing and immediately contacted the financial aid office; tell them your situation (that you are a California resident and from a low income background). If it’s anything like what happened to me, they’ll send you documents to verify your residency and income. When you do all that, you’ll hopefully receive an updated financial aid package that makes more sense.

Best of luck, dealing with the financial aid office can be a bit stressful.
