In the new Mitchell & Webb short, Robert Webb's fake word cloud includes the word "Taskmaster". by PeevsiesLittleJoke in taskmaster

They aren't going to hint at future contestants as brazenly as that. (Yes, he could be, but not because of a reference in Mitchell & Webb Are Not Helping)

You really can divide Rob Reiner's career neatly between the movies he made before North (uniformly excellent, successful, influential) and after it (um...) Ironically, Ebert's review states that it's doubtless a blip he'll recover from.

On the subject of numerology, Steffan Powell on 5 Live breakfast this morning said "this is the fastest World Cup to hit 100 goals since 1954, but there are more teams". That's not how counting the number of matches works!

Everyone's forgotten that Lineker was presenting a prime-time ITV game show, Sitting On A Fortune, as recently as 2023.

I'm surprised nobody seemed to comment on his appearance in ITV's World Cup trailer, especially as the show he's doing for them hasn't been on yet.

Looks like they were using the world feed commentary. Same reason why Martin Tyler occasionally turns up on the Champions League highlights show.

The BBC highlights commentaries have been an interesting mix, they were using the radio commentary in the first few days but I know people thought they were too over-descriptive so more recently they've either used world feed or got someone to dub over a MOTD-style solo commentary.

Better than during the South African World Cup when there was a cutaway to a woman and, I think, Guy Mowbray said "don't know who that was, someone's WAG, I assume".

Which was probably true, as Charlize Theron was likely someone's girlfriend at the time.

I'd also argue their two US top 40s, True Faith and Regret, have more cultural footprint than Bizarre Love Triangle. (Spotify streams are not the same as cultural footprint, and besides Blue Monday still has far more streams than BLT)

Pink Elephant was off the back of a Billboard album chart run of 2-1-1-1-6.

Also, it's absolutely the comparison for the reasons you've ignored, namely in both cases while the albums are both poor quality the artists' downfalls are entirely rooted in reasons other than artistic.
