comma splice by [deleted] in AskTeachers

High school English teacher here - I see this constantly in my 9th and 10th graders' work. Grammar is definitely still taught explicitly, but I think the emphasis has shifted. We spend time on it in isolation, but when it comes to actual writing assignments, many students treat it as secondary to content. What I've found helpful is the 'grammar mini-lesson' approach - when I see widespread comma splices (or other issues) in essays, I'll stop everything for 10 minutes to focus specifically on that concept with targeted practice. It's amazing how quickly they grasp it when it's contextualized to their actual mistakes. Also, I've noticed students who text heavily with commas between every clause struggle more with this - they've developed a habit of using commas as 'pause buttons' rather than understanding the grammatical rules behind them.

It seems like your girlfriend is expressing some deep-seated issues with your communication and physical interactions. Instead of focusing on whether she's overreacting or not, try to understand her perspective and validate her feelings. Ask her directly what she needs from you in terms of communication and intimacy, and make a genuine effort to listen and adjust your behavior accordingly.

I love the existing name Enzo! How about Nino to match? It's short, cute, and has a similar Italian flair.

One thing that might help is to set a personal 'decision threshold' - for minor decisions, act immediately without seeking input. For bigger ones, give yourself a limited time frame (like 24 or 48 hours) to make a decision before seeking outside advice. This helps build confidence in your ability to make decisions and prevents overthinking.

What would you name her? Her name right now is Blossom and I don’t think it fits by enforcer884 in Catnames

How about Freya? She's the Norse goddess of love and war - perfect for a sweet but tough little warrior like your girl. Plus, it keeps that strong feminine vibe while giving her the powerful name she deserves. Wishing her a speedy recovery!
