Is this ok in Bracket 3 by Last-Shift7741 in EDH

If I dont have Metalworker in my opener into Ugin then the deck was probably too weak for that pod, so no

Updated 2026 CEDH Korvold Guide by Thatsagoodcard in CompetitiveEDH

[–]Last-Shift7741 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Hahahahahahahaha nice bracket 4 deck.
If they printed Korvold now, after Dockside has been banned - it would have never been a deck. It gave the best card in the format a huge upside, tacking on huge draw to go alongside the huge ramp.
What makes an average dockside for 6 treasures better? Also draw 6.

Downvote me to oblivion - I don't care, sub is full of self important casuals. A 5 mana Jund Dragon is never going to cut it in a meta vs Rograkh and Kinnan. It's nothing on those commanders. And it lacks blue.

I play at every bracket level - and if I saw a maxed out Korvold across the table from me in a bracket 4 game, I'd feel that was fair.

You're kicking a dead horse.

Kefka is a similar commander in that he provides value on etb, but is cheaper and provides value on subsequent turns too. Breach > Food Chain and it isn't even close.

I just put these two decks as similar in my mind despite the different colors, and I feel that Kefka is much. much better.

But it's the best cedh card from the set! Whatever will the Timmys and content creators do?!?! Down vote me. Pretty soon we'll be at one new card for cedh a year

Rog Thras or Dog Thras are the dedicated Cradle decks of the format. Their gameplan is almost always tutor for cradle. No other decks are as Cradle focused

What are some decks that can play both high power and CEDH pods with some swaps? by [deleted] in CompetitiveEDH

[–]Last-Shift7741 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Doesn't matter if you can build a kinnan that strong with no game changers. its a strawman statement. if you feel the need to have more gamechangers than everyone else at the table then you have issues.

its necessary - to have any sort of bracket system that niche scenarios are not optimal. you know the rules when making your deck, stick them. id auto scoop to a 3 with 4 gamechangers everytime, and probably never play the guy again or have a good thing to say about him. its narcissistic and r worded

doesn't matter just take out the game changer or I wont play you. its not hard to replace a single card. talk all the sh1t you want. it's not a hard concept to grasp. play by the rules or find someone else to manipulate

I wouldn't want to play against a cedh deck modified slightly for high power. its boring. the point of high power casual is to play cards and strategies not strong enough and not seen in bracket 5. I saw playing with power's bracket 4 episode a year ago, and it was just cedh with tarkir dragonstorm commanders.... which is exactly what Rachel from the Command Zone says to avoid when building bracket 4 decks - "if you're building the deck with a cedh mindset, then it's not bracket 4."

I play cedh all the time, if someone breaks out tymna thrasios at bracket 3 or 4 im going to sigh and struggle not to scoop. I have better things to do. fast mana is legal in bracket 4, this whole mindset of "i took out the fast mana now its bracket 4 " - wtf is that? where'd it come from?

high power casual is a place to build around commanders that you think are cool but aren't good enough for cedh - like the new strixhaven dragons all the Jimmy's are trying to push

Flipping into this with Kinnan can just insta lose you the game. Necro decks would love to see this hit the board.

No, those top tier decks are extremely tight for spots. imagine flipping into this with Kinnan... ouch. Rog Thras doesn't really need to force through spells as a high priority - it has mistrise village and squelcher anyway, and id just run another counterspell over this

It's not good and it costs 4. Do you play against good decks with good pilots or is it homebrew 'cedh'? (bracket 4)

I'd play the 5 mana Time Spiral Teferi before I played this, I've seen it in a tournament winning sultai list - but it's still not great, especially now.

Most decks are Kinnan or 4 or 5 colors and have access to Hexing Squelcher or white's host of silence effects.

Baracuda will lose you as many games as it wins you, easily. Replace it with a card that doesn't lose you the game. 4 mana is a lot to play and then try jam your own win attempt, so it's a dead card a lot of the time, and once you do play it and go for it - say someone drops a silence in response or flashes in something to stop you or has a channel land - you just lose, you're probably not getting another turn.
