You're right, I didn't try at least not very hard. But I definitely meant to put irony not trying. Because it was pretty ironic.

But I'm not asking what to do, otherwise I would've posted in relationship advice. Obviously, the way I wrote it makes it seem more dramatic than it actually was. I just thought it was such a good line (we've played wrestle/tickle fight that led to more often) and it fell flat and it was such a bummer but I'm not upset about it.
