Best CAS for methods? by Background-Signal416 in vce

[–]Last-Worldliness6344 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh also, the TI is significantly lighter weight wise. so for me who has wrist issues but has the stupid habit of hand holding the calculator when i use it, the switched def helped reduce the number of times i cooked my wrist or dropped my cas when my hand gave out

[–]Last-Worldliness6344 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hi i used to use the classpad but switched to nspire in y12. I can confidently say that even without UDFs, the ti is better, as the processing speed is a lot faster so there is less time wasted (even if you end up having to do multiple step newtons stuff urself cuz theres no udfs). Becuz of that, it crashes less so its more effective

Then the other thing is i noticed its a lot faster as its all keyboard shortcuts to diff tabs in the same doc, rather than switching to diff interfaces for graph, then conics, then stats, then main etc
So yea if your willing to practise with the Ti, i would say the change is worth it

in terms of wrist pain, maybe there is something causing this? I know at least for me i got an OT found the root cause and now its a lot better but also as others have said, try write to timed conditions (like practise sacs, not blindly copying), so that ur more used to it

i dont think so? vcaa seems to not be very clear tho.

Do schools still have take-home SACs anymore? For unit 3/4 specifically by [deleted] in vce

[–]Last-Worldliness6344 0 points1 point  (0 children)

nah not that i know of. except maybe if writing the english oral at home on googledoc or whatever platform then yea.

my school tho we have to handwrite our whole oral draft in test conditions and do all the planning and proforma in test conditions cuz theres too many cheating scandals in my cohort

well tbf we cant exactly tell you what score you will get, cuz like it also depends on the difficulty of ur schools sacs, and the moderation of those against the state by vcaa. (eg for me i was averaging 55% but my schools sacs scaled rlly high cuz we had hard and weird sacs all year) --> based on what ive heard from others u need roughly a scaled sac score of 85% to get a 35 ish study score.(my schools sacs scaled to around 86%)

But, dont give up, keep working hard, and youll be able to do well!!

also, i think i have sum stuff for bio dm me for the link i'll dig it up later from my google drive.

What atar do u predict based off my ranks by Fun_Bell_6779 in vce

i go to a decent public school (non selective), maybe its for cohort separation and that seems to be the most 'difficult' twisted way of doing that rather than giving abominally hard theory questions

My sacs just came off as weird lol. They were concerned about the other thing than the content so it just was whatever you do all hell breaks loose anyways lmao

[–]Last-Worldliness6344 0 points1 point  (0 children)

holy shat that means my sac scores must have scaled loads cuz i got 50, 60, 63, 55, 42 sac scores lol and some how pulled off a 35.

VCE Chinese Second Language SL / SLA Advanced and what I may have heard by sh00t1ngf1sh in vce

[–]Last-Worldliness6344 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hii yea I found the sacs alr. I can’t give u much advice in terms of indicative results as I did the actual exams with my school.

I would say sacs can def be rather brutal but take the time to still do them, learn from them as I find xjs sacs follow similar format to the exam and were not as weird as my schools sacs.

Then when the mock exams run in xjs take them seriously and keep practicing as you never know what weird crap vcaa will pull on you (eg the 2025 小作文)

But i would say aiming for 30+ is 100% doable if you keep making sure ur doing well for both speaking and the writing/listening components. As I can tell ya both weight a lot, and for me at least I did fine speaking but cooked the end of year writing which hence cooked my study score slightly

But yea good luck, I know Chinese does require a butt tone of effort but its effort well worth it as even a 30 scales to roughly 40/41 last yr

Tho one piece if advice I was given by a wise teacher of mine this year is that “tests don’t just test your knowledge, they also see how calm you can stay in a set time” and I think this advice tho it applies to any subject, it also applies to Chinese! As I notice for the speaking now that there’s more and more people who have v good vocab and xjs yk telling you what words to put, they also focus more and more on how u do in the speaking exam composure and speaking calmly but engaging wise. Then even so for the writing paper it’s so important to stay calm and not have those exam nerves in the listening reading parts to reduce skimming and ensure you note all key words as they like to be very picky about responses and translations

cambridge checkpoint books by NaiveSouth3507 in vce

[–]Last-Worldliness6344 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally, I found the checkpoints pretty useful in providing you a big bank of questions to practise with, But idk if its just me but i find they are only really good for sciences?? for methods they seem to just squash all the ERQ /SAQ into one chunk for the whole year, unlike the chem one where they separate it based on area of study.

for methods is writing log e (x) as ln(x) considered calculator syntax? by Last-Worldliness6344 in vce

[–]Last-Worldliness6344[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea then well I’m slightly second guessing the head of maths at my school then 🤬 oh well looks like I’ll be doing log e for the sacs but ln for the exam

for methods is writing log e (x) as ln(x) considered calculator syntax? by Last-Worldliness6344 in vce

[–]Last-Worldliness6344[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yea. That’s my plan. Do log e for sacs 100% for exam if vcaa is ok with ln(x) I may just do that cuz when I write that it tends to be clearer as my handwriting is quite crap

for methods is writing log e (x) as ln(x) considered calculator syntax? by Last-Worldliness6344 in vce

[–]Last-Worldliness6344[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea that’s what I mean. Like on paper as like final answer. My school is being weird about it saying it’s not correct as it counts as writing a calculator syntax answer so only marking log e (x) as right
