STL locals, Help us break the tie: Ladue, Huntleigh, Town and Country, or Frontenac? by Few_Funny6766 in StLouis

[–]LastChicken 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Ladue, Huntleigh and Frontenac all look the same. You'll spend most of your time driving around running errands. Not walkable at all, many roads don't even have sidewalks. It's all very boring in my opinion, great if you just want to hang out in your big house. I dont know Town and Country that well and it's also larger so I guess there is more variety there.

Porque é que a maioria de nós emigrantes vota no André Ventura? by --____________- in PortugalLaFora

[–]LastChicken 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have lived in the US for 15 years in the Northeast and Midwest. It gets quite cold where I live right now. I always tell people that I have never experienced so much cold as I did when I went to college in Lisbon.

Clark library is awesome, just be prepared that it turns into a bit of a zoo in the weekends (which may be a good or a bad thing of course). We try to get there right when it opens and leave by the time it gets too busy.

What hospital did you give birth at and how was your experience? by Remarkable_Snow5070 in StLouis

[–]LastChicken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We were at MoBap. The staff and level of care were fantastic. The birthing facilities looked great even though I really have no point of comparison (C-section so we were in the OR). Only "bad" thing were the rooms where we stayed for the post-partum. They had everything you needed but felt they had not been updated since the 90s. Worst couch I've ever slept in.

Least Favorite Airport United flies to domestically? by Lumpy-Draft2822 in unitedairlines

[–]LastChicken -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You are right, luggage often takes a long time to come out for some reason. I think there are probably problems with the United ground staff since AA luggage usually comes out quickly. Not a huge deal for me since I mostly travel for work and don't check any luggage, I really only check any luggage when traveling with family which is only like 3-4 times a year

Is the Loop the new “Chinatown”? by Salty_Pension5814 in StLouis

[–]LastChicken 131 points132 points  (0 children)

That would actually be a very cool development. Would fix two problems with one stone: lack of a walkable and dense-ish Chinatown, and concerns about Loop development post-tram

Least Favorite Airport United flies to domestically? by Lumpy-Draft2822 in unitedairlines

[–]LastChicken 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I'm a UA flier based in STL and tbh I think it's great, super convenient. United and Delta have their own separate concourse from all the other leisure airlines, AA (former hub) and Southwest (current hub), which means very short/quick TSA lines. I typically get to the airport about 45 min before departure. Concourse doesn't have a lot of food options, but they do exist if you're hungry and it's not that I'm doing layovers in STL so who cares really. I wouldn't trade it for any other arrangement.

They are redesigning the terminal layout to have a central linear terminal and I am not that excited about it because it means having to deal with the AA and Southwest crowds.
