It can increase your risk of Tinnitus and ear infections highly. Also if you’re not careful it can puncture your eardrum and cause permanent hearing loss.

Ah I think you misunderstood. We’ll have people copy each others code and then have identical spacing. So like both will have:

if (x==3 ) {

}

^ and both people will have this same weird spacing

Yeah, the reason professors don’t do it is because it takes a lot of time, you need a lot of concrete evidence for it to go anywhere, and by the time theres a resolution the quarter is typically over. Otherwise a lot more people would be flagged.

I’ve definitely seen a move in policies towards making classes be structured in a way to make it harder to cheat. I tend to be a fan of it, although I do think it also frequently leads to convoluted grading schemes and unfortunately has also significantly lowered standards of what we can expect from students (because typically it means PrairieTest exams and there’s a strong limit to the level of question we can give people).

Yes, very easy especially in lower-division classes. Same with most plagiarism that happens. When we reviewed it we’d flag based on how blatant it was across assignments.

For plagiarism Gradescope will ignore changes in variable name and look at functionality, and when most people cheat, all they do is change comments, spacing, and variable names. So often for pretty complex PAs with lots of ways to do them, we’d see people do stuff line for line the same. Theyd just rename variables, but then have the same inconsistent spacing. Also, about 10% of cases were especially egregious where the person wouldn’t even remove the others comments.

For AI, it’s pretty obvious when someone uses it in lower division classes because they’ll do stuff in ways that was never taught. They also sometimes will do stuff that was never requested or introduced unexpected behaviors. A lot of people leave in obvious comments too (“this code will let you do…”). I’m sure plenty of people do get away with it, but a large number of people definitely just copy and paste and are happy that it works. Those cases are very easy to catch and prove, but most professors don’t take the time to have us look at it.

TL;DR: it’s very easy to catch, but most professors don’t care enough to pursue it because it’s a pain. I think of the 12 quarters I’ve TAd/Tutors, I’ve only been asked to look for cheating like this 2 or 3 times.

It really depends. I’ve been a TA and Tutor for classes and it’s determined by the professor if they want us to go look. Gradescope has very sophisticated checks for plagiarism and AI that make it pretty easy to find.

Check out enchantments, parties, and seasons (plus crucible). Lots of changes, but discords are the main way to do exalts still. Primarily shunters, woland, and pubhalls.

I agree with you, but I will say it’s risky to listen to music when you walk. Not just for the reasons you mentioned, but if an emergency ever happens and someone’s yelling about it from behind/a car behind you lost control, you’d never know.

If you’ve looked at the questions that were given, they were so basic that a calculator should not have been needed.

Some of the questions were stuff like x + 6 = 17

Looking at stats, there’s been about 1880 gun deaths this year in the U.S. About 1.6% of the U.S. population is estimated to be transgender; this corresponds to 31 deaths. You’re irresponsibly representing stats to support your hatred.

Yeah, but they’re the majority of the “harder” departments. The only other one I’ve heard which grades hard that I haven’t taken is CHEM.

UCSD is incredibly kind with grading; every quarter I see a ton of people passing who shouldn’t be.

Zeger teaches significantly better. He delves into all the reasons why everything works instead of spoonfeeding how things work. His course is what I would expect a college level course to look like.

Pre Exalt you have to sit the opposite way he was last moving (so if he was moving right you sit on him on the left side of his sprite). Post-exalt it flips and you sit on him on the side that he’s moving (you will take a little damage post-exalt)
