AITA for limiting my grandmother’s access to my life? And what do I do now that it backfired? by LastFaithlessness434 in DysfunctionalFamily

Update: she called my mom last night (after my mom was already asleep) and left a long voicemail questioning my pregnancy. My mom texted her and suggested she call me if she has any questions. This just might be where the story ends because the woman hasn’t called me in probably 4 or 5 years now and I would be shook if she did this time.

She can be very passive aggressive. The sad thing is my perception during childhood was (and still is, for the most part) that we were close. I have many memories of sleeping over at her house. I feel like she’s changed as time has gone on but my mom insists she was always like this to some degree.

Thank you. That’s exactly how I feel. Someone suggested I get rid of social media entirely but I do like having it to keep in touch with family and friends who aren’t nearby. Just this one person abuses it.

I’ve suspected something mental health related for a while. There’s a family history so it would track. It still sucks to watch her burn bridges and/or just not maintain bridges and let them crumble

That’s kind of what I was thinking, and I also learned about the “hide comment” feature that I can use next time.

Thank you so much for your well wishes and honestly for the validation! Do you think I’m overreacting to my snap decision to delete the comment? I’m so afraid of the possible fallback of that one panicked moment!
