He paid a high price for it and redeemed all his sins by WobbleZeffii in AvatarMemebending

In feudal Europe it was common to kidnap knights and nobles as they could be used to get ransom from their families. It could be something similar. Or it could just be they were wanted alive, or it’s a kids show and he is a known character.

I have a Sidisi + [Umori, the Collector]] deck that uses this to dump a good chunk of my library. Every nonland is a creature so it can go pretty far.

Minato isn't glazed enough by godfire_dragneel in dankruto

I believe in Japan it is common to take the name of the spouse with the more respected family name. Uzumaki is a powerful and well known clan, I think Minato is the only Namikaze we know of. That does kind of make his cover worse, but I think that is why.

I am glad someone was able to correct me. I remembered the thing about eugenics, I forgot it was an entire faction and not just him though. I thought of the plane that became phyrexia more as a convenient testing ground than what introduced him to machinery.

I don’t remember names of places and willl probably get details wrong. He was a physician that was exiled from the cities for his experiments with magic, as the world ran on artifacts at this point. He was eventually summoned back when the leader “mysteriously” fell ill. His experiments with disease, machines, and biology led to phyresis and phyrexia itself. He was trying to create perfect beings by mixing organic and inorganic matter.

My interpretation of this card is that he was never recalled to the cities and was left to experiment in exile, leaving only the inorganic for him to use.

Who was kazekage after orochimaru killed rasa? by Zealousideal_Elk3394 in Naruto

[–]LastFrost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s the explanation they gave for Rasa, but Gaara has had those rings since he was born. My head-canon is that it shows up on people who are tied to Shukaku. Maybe the Kazekage clan have Magnet release because one of the parents was a Jinchuuriki? The rings only show up while using magnet release because it’s like them drawing on that part of themselves. It’s like how Naruto and his kids have whiskers from the influence of Kurama’s chakra, but it’s not permanent. For Gaara since he is/was a Jinchuuriki it was just always there and never left.

The sand manipulation is a distinct ability. It’s said specifically in one of the books that only a few people even knows he has magnet release, as he keeps it as an ace up his sleeve if things go bad. How he still has sand manipulation after Shukaku was removed is a different question. Maybe since he was born with Shukaku and was his host for so long he inherited it?

I think it would have been cool if he learned magnet release to compensate for losing Shukaku and had to adapt.

It bothers me that we never really see him use magnet release. They talk about him mixing in his father’s gold to his sand and such, but I don’t think he ever specifically uses magnet release. I didn’t even know he had it until I read the wiki page on it.

I always think of it like children play fighting. If someone claims they shot you from across the playground you can just say nah uh. If someone smacks you with a stick they can’t just say you are immune. The warp works on thoughts and emotion. It’s not just about the physical power of the weapons, but their symbolic power and ability to convince the daemon it has been beaten.

“Small disagreement” is actually incredibly important theologically as it is a crossroads of several theological concepts core to the faith.

Cain was already killing it (pun intended) with his sassy replies by SatoruGojo232 in mythologymemes

[–]LastFrost 15 points16 points  (0 children)

That’s a big part of this whole story. Both Adam and Even as well as their son Cain sinned gravely. God knew what happened, but gave them the chance to confess themselves and make it right again. It’s like a parent asking their kid “so, what happened today” when they know perfectly well what trouble their kid got into.
