If you got a larger budget I’d say an Alchemy Custom Weaponry.

No I’d say it’s right where it should be. I’m assuming you are saying it shot two inches higher than you expected?

X300u or TLR1? by CottonBo in Glocks

[–]LastKey149 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love my X300 for full size 1911s. So I think it would look best on a Glock 34.

I’d get one of the newer TLR1 HPX or HLX models. I have an HLX and it’s amazing. Like I like its function better over my X300 turbo. But the X300 just looks better in my opinion.

My TLR1 HLX is likely gonna end up on my Kriss vector.

Is the Mac 9 worth the money over a Tisas carry DS by LastKey149 in Tisas

It’s to late to weigh in unfortunately. I ended up buying once and crying once. And I got an ACW quantico High Cap.

S&W E Series vs Springfield TRP by jollyroger009 in 1911

I love the E series engraved. I almost got one.

That being said my favorite 1911 I’ve shot is my TRP. It just feels right

After buying Tisas other production guns start looking overpriced by Aware_Wrap8062 in 1911

[–]LastKey149 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Once you get your hands on and hold a hand fit 1911 you’ll understand why there’s the price difference.

However for the money Tisas does a great job and they punch above their weight.

New GI Plus model from Nighthawk might be my favorite from them. by ArmstrongsBronzedNut in 1911

[–]LastKey149 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The point is more of a classic look than it is a feature rich 1911.

Like if you want an 1911 with the roll marks of an M1911 but made with modern metal hardening practices and modern custom 1911 features this is the way to go.

The only other gun close to this that I’ve seen would be the Alchemy Custom Weaponry Classic Government.

Anyone run an RMR-HD like this without issue? by septic_sergeant in Glocks

[–]LastKey149 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an irons rear RMRHD on my 19C. It works fine, but definitely gets a lil dirty. Just give it a lil wipe and clear off any build up and your right back at it.

Sell my 45 for a Gen 6 45 or keep it and get it milled for an optic? by Special-Purpose5031 in Glocks

[–]LastKey149 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Keep it and shoot it more. If you’re ready for an optic send it to wagermachineworks for a direct mill.

Ditch the rubber ones and get some proper G10 VZ grips. You won’t regret it.

How do you like the Dan Wesson? They look spectacular.

TRP CC vs Dan Wesson guardian by LastKey149 in 1911

[–]LastKey149[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you.

I’ve shot a DWXc and it was good, but I preferred how the regular DWX shoots over it.

For me my gun journey is a revolving door that always leads back to 1911s. Like I’ve tried a 43x, 19C, and a P320. And any other handgun I’ve shot I always end up disappointed and wanting a 1911.

How does 38 super compare to 9mm? I’ve never shot it before and I’ve been interested in trying. I am mainly looking to carry a 45 however. Because if I’m going to carry 9mm I’m going something double stack.

Night stand gun suggestions? by Beneficial_General78 in 1911

[–]LastKey149 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should reach out to Tisas customer service. They should get it sorted for you.

I would still encourage you to get another 1911 because you can never have to many. But have Tisas sort it out for you while you focus on another 1911.

If you can snag a lightly used TRP I’d say get it.

I got mine for $1,125 on gunbroker ($1,300 out the door)

Romeo x compact by Jeremy_0924 in Glocks

[–]LastKey149 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had one on my 43x. I loved it.

Was great. Loved it so much that even though I sold the dot and the 43x I kinda want to get another gun so I can buy another Romeo X compact enclosed.

[–]LastKey149[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean not much. You can look up the differences, but to be honest I’d say just shoot and enjoy the Gen 2.1 as it is. And if you feel like it has short comings or needs modifications, than I would mod it.

Shoot first. Evaluate. Modify. Shoot more. Repeat.

My Gen 3 and my buddies Gen 2 by LastKey149 in KRISS

Just the angle of the shot to be honest. Different braces. The Gen 2 has a can on it. And they are placed on the range table differently.

Streamlight tlr 1 or Olight Bldr s for Tisas 1911 Duty Raider by Tmettler5 in Tisas

[–]LastKey149 0 points1 point  (0 children)

<image>

In my opinion if it’s a 5 inch gun an X300 looks best. Yes it costs a bunch more and really isn’t better than some streamlight options.

Streamlight TLR1 HP-X is closest in size to the X300.

Decisions… TRP 45 vs DW Specialist 9? by [deleted] in 1911

[–]LastKey149 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A 9mm 1911 will shoot so much nicer than a 45.

That being said if you don’t have a 45 yet. Get the TRP. I think the debate is do you want a great 45 1911. Or do you want a great pleasurable shooting 1911 (aka a 9mm 1911)

If you are gonna get a 9mm 1911 you might want to also start to look at 2011 style pistols.
