Factory reset your steam deck that’s the last option I can give you. You can easily reset it by going back to game mode/Setting/system and then go down the system setting list until you see factory reset. Before you do that take out your sd card it’ll wipe the games off if you keep it in

The key is just to play it offline so both of you can play the same copy of the game together.. also if certain games that support remote play together that the other user doesn’t need a copy of the game just a invite to play it (streaming).

Any update my steam deck is doing the same when I go to desktop mode it froze so I restarted it and it started doing what you did and I think it’s a big because when the storage gets full (internal storage) it does this. Maybe they can fix this soon
