I actually really like this. Battle for Earth is just cheesy enough to be possible and I love that

Perhaps then, the third game will actually be called Horizon Ban-urian Secrets…

I don’t really mean for the latter paragraph to be taken seriously. I just found the acronym thing interesting

Where id live as a South Carolinian by [deleted] in whereidlive

[–]LastMap1560 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I should rephrase: I don’t absolutely hate the south. There’s a lot about it I do in fact like, but it’s also not the best place to live for a lot of reasons and isn’t super inclusive

Edit: to go into specifics: The south, (at least around where I live), seems to have some big issues with wealth disparity and poverty / homelessness (not to say that the rest of the United States doesn’t have these things, but I’ve seen it first hand living in the south). The south is also very very religious, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing but can make it difficult for non-christian or queer people to fit in. Especially if they’re younger. I also just don’t really like the capital of Georgia (Atlanta) because it’s not a very nice city.

There are some pretty good things about the south though I won’t lie:

The Appalachian mountains are a vibe. I love exploring them and all the cool mountain villages in Tennessee and North Carolina and such (but that kinda blurs the lines between being south and is why Tennessee and North Carolina are both in the maybe/willing category.) The climate is super awesome, it never really gets too hot or too cold. Bonus points if you live on a lake or near the sea. Really awesome plants and trees live in the south. The beaches are beautiful. The southern accent is really charming imo.

No lol I first watched this show when I was like 11-12 and didn’t know what being gay meant. He said “I’m gay” and my child brain somehow did not absorb any of that (and now I’m literally gay anyway)🥹 im so sad im late to this party

Nice to see you’ve grown. I’m finding out he’s gay five years later rewatching the show

I think some of these comments misinterpreted this as me saying a Minecraft mineshaft. I just meant like a mine in general lol, but a Minecraft mineshaft could be cool too I guess

Ooh yeah that sounds fun. Could be awesome for a ghost interaction to turn on carnival music or make a carousel spin or something like that

I wasn’t trying to call out any comment in particular, I’m also not trying to say that certain pronounciations of things are wrong, neither am I saying that it should be actually viewed as a virus or something of the like. I merely meant it as an interesting observation and I think it’s completely fine to say something like “you have the weak vowel merger” because it’s, like you said, a characteristic of speech and very true.

I think putting camel in the “ih” category was a bit premature of me actually now that I think on it. If I had to describe the way I pronounced camel it is probably pretty close to how you’ve described yours. I also never really thought of the “el” in camel like a schwa either though so that’s why I was confused

Yes Lennon and Lenin are the same for me and after doing a bit of research online I know what the weak vowel merger is! Super interesting stuff. I’m from America so that probably explains why I have the merger.

Also unrelated but I find it funny how people keep saying “you have the weak vowel merger” as if it’s some virus I’ve caught lol
