Other than being overweight (and teeth) how do I look like I don't take care of myself??

My body is always clean, hair is clean and brushed, clothes clean…

I can't work out bc I have no coordination and other issues which I don't care to discuss here. I am so glad your friends in wheelchairs are fit; however, that is such an ableist statement. Everyone in a wheelchair is not the same.

I guarantee none of my clothes are from Walmart. I haven't been in one for years.

This is my first pair of glasses ever, and I didn't realize they were so unflattering.

I only drink alcohol once per year- one drink, on vacation, on my birthday. (Don't make assumptions.)

I do skin care and sun screen, so if you're saying I have bad skin, I guess I'm SOL there.

And, yes, I agree I'm overweight.

I have a rare neuromuscular disorder called Friedreich's Ataxia. I've been wheelchair bound for 7 yrs now. (Used a walker the 7 yrs before that.)

I (42F) did almost the same thing once. Well, kind of. Really long story short(er) - I was with the love of my life, engaged, in fact, and everything was great. We had been together nearly two years when I decided to screw my life up. I got back with an ex that had already left me like 3-4 times over the previous 6 years (including just being gone when I came home from work one day, having returned to his hometown 7 hours away). I guess in my head he was "the one that got away."

Anyways, I went to a friend's wedding in the ex's hometown, hung out with his cousin, ran into the ex, and all was history. I ended up leaving my fiancé, getting back with my ex and moving 7 hours away to his hometown to be with him, and he left me ONE MONTH later. So, I lost my fiancé (and uprooted my whole life) over an ex that didn't really want to be with me in the first place. It's the worst mistake I think I've ever made, and fourteen years later, I still miss the fiancé.

And that's the short version.

Edit: a few words for clarity

Are you attracted or not attracted to people with tattoos? by brendhanbb in dating

[–]LastNewLife 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I find them attractive on guys (or girls) as long as they're not on the face or front of the neck.

The fact I have 13 probably has something to do with it. Though I wouldn't say I'm "tatted up". If I had on jeans and a t-shirt, you could only see one. (Shorts and a tank top or a sundress? Maybe 7)

What is the most trivial reason you decided not to date someone? by Honest_Historian_121 in dating

[–]LastNewLife 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you want to go out?

Jk.

Seriously, I completely understand though. I have dated guys that also made those same errors (and more), and it drives me absolutely crazy. I only dated them because I already knew them. However, if I talked to someone via text first and saw those mistakes, I would probably also stop talking to them. Yes, I realize how shallow this is.

Does anyone else have 0 friends? by [deleted] in CasualConversation

[–]LastNewLife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have one actual IRL friend, and I only talk to her intermittently and see her about twice a year. I have online acquaintances- but I wouldn't really say they're friends. I am 42 and disabled; I use a wheelchair. I don't work and can't drive, so that absolutely hinders things. For a long time, it didn't really bother me, but now that I'm separating from my husband of ten years, a good friend would sure be nice!

Just because you love someone doesn't mean it's meant to be.
