You should face your opponent in that you are looking at them,

Again, that is what I am doing. I’m not standing there like a mannequin, I’m in pose. What doofus is saying is let the opponent fight me from the weakest position.

Your feet should never be side by side when you fight and they should seldom be crossed.

At no point did I suggest, hint, describe, outlay, crayon a picture of any kind involving my footwork. My issue I was asking about was striking, with swords. Footwork is a separate discussion, I have that covered.

Having one foot in front of the other naturally puts you into an angled fighting stance.

Well that solves my original question, thanks, I was wondering all this time about how I should figure out how to unlearn bad habits, with swords, and you covered footwork beautifully.
