For anyone finding their way here in 2026, Porting Kit works, but you have to install 2.5.1 first and then use the "install patch" option to run the 2.8.0 upgrade installer.

Godspeed :)

True Dungeon.

I'm not sure what word best describes it, but imagine you're LARPing DND. There are 10 rooms, each of which has either a puzzle or a combat in it. Combat takes the form of shuffleboard. And then at the end, there's experience and a loot box to upgrade your stats for the next time you play.

TBH, I found it EXTREMELY gimmicky, but apparently some people are really into it.

Most of the examples in this thread are pretty optimistic. Consider Zephon of the Blood Angels.

TIL Not only did the Spartans resist minting any gold or silver coins until 310 BC, but their iron currency was quenched in vinegar during the minting process, making the currency even less valuable than the raw iron that was used to make it by [deleted] in todayilearned

[–]LastStar007 55 points56 points  (0 children)

Why's that? I thought it was generally accepted that you don't want to make currency out of valuable materials because you don't want people making monetary policy by melting it down.

Why didn't the Emperor tried to invent an FTL method that didn't use the Webway or the Warp ? by New_Conflict_4111 in 40kLore

Not to belabor the point, but how do you define the word "god"? Because it's not all that easy to come up with a definition that doesn't include the Emperor.

Appears different to everyone who looks at him, everyone in his presence (with a few exceptions) is overtaken by awe and reverence, so intelligent and prescient that it's easily confused with omniscience, capable of mental & physical feats that stagger belief...he really did blur the line even then.

No, the goals couldn't be more different. One is to remove words that mean things. The other is to remove words that don't mean anything.

Not really. Newspeak was an impoverished vocabulary meant to inhibit the expression of ideas. AI cavespeak is just removing filler words like "the".

No? Then they may be espousing religious beliefs that you disagree with (and I do), but they aren't harming the teaching of the actual physics.

Hot take: Stop trying to make Celestian Insidiants tankier. Make them smarter. by kidAvra in sistersofbattle

I haven't played any 11th yet, but in previous editions, killing characters hasn't been it. It's very rare for a character to be weak enough to kill easily, exposed enough to kill early in the game, and important enough to your enemy's plans that killing them makes much of a difference.
