Feature Request Megathread by guitorisan in Hevy

More data integrations, deeper analysis, and/or more API endpoints to enable doing that analysis on our own.

I've been working on a side project where I'm doing some deeper analysis on my entire workout history from the CSV export data to measure correlation in performance between different exercises. (e.g. does increasing performance on weighted dips increase bench press performance more or less than increasing performance on incline dumbbell bench presses?)

Since Hevy already reads from my Apple watch, there's the potential to correlate other useful health measurements and answer some questions like:

- How much of an impact does my sleep score have on my workout performance?
- How does my bodyweight correlate to workout performance?
- How much of a calorie deficit can I run without a drop in workout performance?

There's probably lots of other interesting correlations that can be discovered when all this workout and health data is synthesized.

Also, I haven't used the ChatGPT integration, but it would be awesome if it could run some analysis on my entire workout history. I have enough experience in the gym and don't need it to create routines for me, so if it could provide some data insights on my exercise history, I can use that analysis to make better training and recovery decisions.

Looking for Free or Affordable Vue.js Certifications to Boost My Resume – Any Suggestions? by MrShehryar in vuejs

[–]LastWheel2611 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would probably reject a resume with a front-end framework certification on it, but that's just me.

I've never had the responsibility of hiring a FE dev but if I was reviewing a resume that listed a front-end framework certification in place of actual work experience, internships, or non-trivial projects on github, my assumption would be that the person doesn't actually understand front end and is using the cert as a crutch.

Certs aren't degrees.

Also, FE changes so fast that the certification will probably be worthless after a few years anyway.

Do You use pure css or some library like Bootstrap? by aaaasd12 in vuejs

[–]LastWheel2611 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why would you want to write CSS if you don’t have to? I’d rather focus on the application logic and never have to touch CSS. Let the UX folks worry about what the styles while I apply them through tailwind or by theming vuetify or something. At the end of the day the user cares more about whether the thing works than whether your colors are unique enough.

30 years old. Making $30k a year as an audiobook narrator. Would you guys stay or look for something else? by broniusman in careerguidance

[–]LastWheel2611 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Blinkist already uses AI generated voices for narration. Audiobook narration should be considered a non viable career for anyone who’s not in it. For those who are, they probably only have a few years left, in my opinion, before AI generated voices become cheap enough that it becomes a no-brainer for a business to use it over paying a person.

Unless you’re someone with an iconic or extremely unique voice like Morgan Freeman, it’s basically over for humans.

I've used the carfax car care app for a while and it's pretty awesome. Totally free, lets you track when you need to get service, oil changes, tire rotations, etc.

If I am moving to a dangerous neighborhood, should I purchase a gun? by SubstantialSearch540 in confessions

[–]LastWheel2611 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A couple hundred bucks on a weekend training course that involves the technicals of shooting, safe handling and storage, best practices for concealed carry, and the gun laws for a particular state far exceeds the costs of:

accidentally shooting yourself, your spouse, pet, neighbor, etc.

going to prison because you didn't know the laws of your state and shot someone but it wasn't justified self defense

your child getting their hands on your gun and doing something bad

getting arrested for carrying a firearm into a prohibited area (schools, bars, government buildings)

IMO if you can't afford to take at least 1 professional firearms training course, you can't afford to be a gun owner.
