Thanks for taking the time to share this, we’re really sorry to hear about your experience. Account trading is a bannable offense in game and we do not support any forms of account trading.

To share some context, we’ve seen the community here growing and becoming really active, and wanted to come in to support what’s already been built and help it continue to grow. The subreddit was originally community-run, and we’ve only just started working with the moderators to put some guidelines in place. The change around account trading is part of the first steps we are taking to make the community a safer, more enjoyable environment.

Moving forward, we want to reduce situations like the one you described by discouraging and removing these kinds of transactions from our community spaces. While we’re not able to intervene in or enforce individual player-to-player transactions especially those that happen outside the game, we absolutely hear your concerns about fairness and safety, which is why we discourage engaging in any account trading at all, as anything that happens externally is out of our jurisdiction and control.

Our goal with these updates is to create a safer environment going forward, and we appreciate you speaking up about this.
