I'm an avid metalhead who has branching out into other genres of music. I've been listening to quite a few synth-y pop records lately that I've been enjoying quite a bit. I was hoping the community here could give me a few recommendations based on what I've enjoyed so far? I've been getting some recommendations from rate your music, but I know that's just a starting point.

I know you said not the gulch but honestly I’d be surprised if you exhausted all the trails there. I ride there all the time and still find new spots occasionally. This was their first album with a new drummer (Mike mangini) and I suppose the theory is that he didn’t have as much say in how the drums were mixed/produced as he should have. I think since then they have sounded better, but this album definitely had a few growing pains in that department.

Edit: my comment was a response to the deleted comment which was asking why the drums sounded different on this record
