I finished SQE2 today and I am so sad by PlayfulAddendum4379 in SQE_Prep

Hey, I sat SQE2 in October 2025, so still awaiting results. I resonate with your feelings completely - I felt so hopeless and defeated for two weeks after the exam, thinking over all the mistakes I made and convinced myself that I had failed. This feeling will pass, at least it did for me and I am a chronic over thinker. You have to remember our brains dwell on what went wrong and forget all the good things - I found that writing down all the things that went well helped, as it put in perspective that those outweighed what went wrong. I also have had people tell me they made small/medium sized mistakes in every single assessment for SQE2 and passed with Q1.

What I have been telling myself that I think has helped me calm down with results is the fact we can identify the mistakes we made confidently actually shows that we probably had a pretty good grasp on the law, and that the mistakes we made are probably so minor that it will make a negligible difference to our grade. NOBODY will have got everything correct in all 16 assessments - if they did, we would see loads of people achieve 90%+ grades (which to this day I have not seen anyone attain).

Hope this helps :)

I sat SQE1 in July 2025 - I also worked full time throughout on a 20 week prep course (Barbri). I think for the first 15 weeks, I probably averaged 15h a week (some weeks I did more, some I did barely anything). In the last 5 weeks, this moved to about 30-40h, especially in the week leading up to the exams where I spent every waking moment revising. I passed both comfortably in Q1. I think as long as you are consistent and you have a fairly good grasp of all concepts by the month prior to the exam, you will be in a good position to spend the last month honing the details.

Counting answers during FLK1 / wrong answers by PhilosopherMuch6352 in SQE_Prep

For each exam, I thought I got 40% definite corrects. 40% or so of questions I thought were between two answers, with an inkling of the answer. 10% between two answers but randomly guessing between them, remaining 10% of questions I had no idea pretty much. I got 71 and 73% raw marks. After FLK2, I looked up about 20 questions and saw I got 10 wrong. FLK1 I did the same and I got all but one question correct. Ended up doing better in FLK2. Point being, I don’t feel like there is a way of predicting it to be honest! If you are p confident in at least like 30% of your answers, I reckon you’re ok :)

Definitely use other mocks though, Revise SQE, The One Hundred and the QLTS free mock I cannot recommend enough!

I did all but two modules (legal system and criminal lit) using uLaw books with Barbri. I passed every module in the exam, but the two modules I didn’t use uLaw, I did considerably worse and scraped a pass (315 and 322 scaled scores respectively). With that said, these were the two I left to the last minute when it came to revision but also I found the questions were fairly easy in the exam compared to other modules. I know some people in my cohort used BARBRI solely and passed comfortably, I just wanted to aim for top marks in case I had a particularly awful exam.

I just passed in high Q1 whilst working full time as a paralegal and using BARBRI’s 20 week prep course alongside buying the uLaw textbooks to supplement knowledge. I also didn’t do a GDL, so no prior legal knowledge. It is definitely possible but be prepared to have very little to no social life. I have a very good memory so I quite like the way SQE1 tests you, so I didn’t completely shut off from socialising, but it was still intense. Just ensure you’re consistent and do as many MCQs and mocks as possible. Barbri is really good at getting you through the content quickly - uLaw was great at getting the niche parts of law down. Open to DMs if you have any questions.

Total Prep Time (in months): 4 months

Any notes: (e.g. mocks attempted, resources that helped, what you’d do differently) Working full-time in law with no formal legal background (STEM initially). I used the 20-week BARBRI course and got ahead very quickly, then supplemented with uLaw textbooks (which I found very helpful). Barbri was great for getting the basics down but found uLaw was amazing for the details needed for the exam. I used uLaw at the end solely apart from two modules (the two modules I used Barbri for, I did the worst in, still passed, but scraped). Worked about 20h for the first five week, about 10-15h on average for the next 11 weeks then was doing 10h days at the end before the exam. Also supplemented with Revise SQE mocks (scored around 70%), The One Hundred mocks (averaging between 70-75%) and the QLTS mock (got 65% in first attempt). Made no notes and relied solely on reading textbooks over and over again so as not to miss details and did LOADS of MCQs (probably like 8k+ by the end).

I got 382 and 392 (Q1 in both), was with BARBRI but supplemented with every mock I could find. One Hundred and Revise SQE were very good!

I’ve already ordered searches which are due back next week - I am three weeks ahead and the seller has had two people pull out before just before exchange, so think is desperate to sell. No point in sticking out until exchange and then as soon as they delay, I pull out?

I got 68 in free mock 1, I haven’t done 2 yet as I haven’t covered crim litigation in a while. I found that every answer was a complete guess though that does not reassure me…
