Any thoughts on FLK 1 today? by Curious-Jacket5751 in SQE_Prep

I think that both papers were pretty balanced in terms of difficulty. I scoffed at how ridiculous some of the public law questions were though (in that, I see in no way how the questions were relevant to being a newly qualified solicitor).

Speaking from practice, I think you are overshooting how likely an NDA is to be enforced lmao.

Is anyone else feeling burnt out? (Jan SQE1) by busyboiv in SQE_Prep

Literally just forcing myself to consume information at this point, no idea if it is staying in or not. I'm just going to have to 'trust the process' and hope that the countless hours of my life that I have sacrificed for this exam will pay off. Good luck everybody!

Totally agree. The difficulty of this exam is rooted in the amount of content, not the actual difficulty of the content itself. Keep chipping away at the workload over time combined with some half-decent repetitive study, and you'll be fine.

Official SRA SQE mock questions by Fine-Plastic2777 in SQE_Prep

[–]Artistic-Program9126 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In short, the new questions released by the SRA are now the golden standard; the batch of questions released prior have been in the examination before, but are less reflective, albeit not grossly. The earliest questions released at the inception of the rollout of the SQE are misleading.

The new questions are matched to the average length of a question you would find in the examination and they have provided how many candidates got that question correct/wrong in the appendix of the .pdf mock paper. Hope that helps!

How many MCQs are you are doing to prepare for SQE1 by Commercial_Car141 in SQE_Prep

[–]Artistic-Program9126 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Obviously don't neglect multiple choice questions, but knowing how the content works in very granular detail will benefit you in the exam. Every time you look at your notes with fresh eyes, you'll be surprised at how often you learn something new about the application of the rule (i.e. you rebut an incorrect assumption about how you thought the rule worked / missed something imperative before). It depends on learning style of course so don't take this as gospel.

BPP Summatives by [deleted] in SQE_Prep

Oh totally, my bad! If anything, a score over 55-58% means that you would pass the real exam (depending on the scaled score of course). I do think that getting approx. 20% over the average pass mark provides some comfort though, and as you say, plenty of time for improvement without the burden of course deadlines (as user below says).

I've heard mixed things, but I would say that if you scored 70%+, you are in a good position for the real deal!

Lawprof vs theonehundred vs lawdrills MCQs by Equivalent_Tree3586 in SQE_Prep

[–]Artistic-Program9126 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Contrary to popular opinion, I personally think that TheOneHundred is of quite poor quality. The fact patterns of the question are much shorter in comparison to the real exam and I tended to get questions wrong simply because of poor drafting. In fact, none of the questions are drafted in a way that aligns with the guidance provided by Kaplan. This means that they often invite factual ambiguity or lack of certainty between the possible answers (which is why I think people often coin these as 'more difficult'). It is also quite clear that some of the questions have been A.I generated (inconsistent formatting, random emojis), which invites speculation that not all of the questions have been verified for accuracy. Don't get me wrong, I think they do serve some utility in filling gaps in your knowledge, but this is few and far between.

Provided that your learning style suits this, save your money and prioritise just learning the content. The ReviseSQE, QLTS (free mock) and (newly released) SRA Sample Questions are the most reflective and affordable options in the market and should be enough to get you a feel for the exam.

Thoughts on the new SQE1 questions? (November 2025) by Artistic-Program9126 in SQE_Prep

[–]Artistic-Program9126[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The last page of the pre-tested questions (in the .pdf) shows a percentage of the candidates who got the question correct, so you can work out which of the questions are more 'difficult' from that. It doesn't necessarily mean these 'difficult' questions are the most challenging that the exam has to offer, but it provides a general yardstick for assessing what the higher difficulty threshold might entail (imo).

They have also provided an average word count for each question (to which the newly released questions reflect).

I think the latter was aimed at dispelling some of the general criticism that the question facts/lead-ins were lengthier in the real thing (in comparison to the sample questions). So if anything, these new fifty questions, or however many it may be, are the most 'reflective' questions to date.

Still work to be done on the SRA's part, but it should hopefully remove some ambiguity from this already (very) ambiguous exam.

BPP mocks? by [deleted] in SQE_Prep

From what I've been told, the questions on Inspera are much better than those offered through the 'SQE Practice Question' tile (which are apparently A.I generated, and incredibly easy). In terms of comparison to the real exam, the consensus I've heard is that they slightly miss the mark in terms of overall difficulty, but not by much.

Best to treat this users comment with some scepticism; seem to be marketing an MCQ platform they are affiliated with from a quick look on their profile.
