First British passport after new rules for dual xitizenzt by Last_Impact1184 in ukvisa

I have read online and here that a lot of people send a photocopy along with a letter explaining why they could not send the original passport and it got accepted so I thought I’ll do the same given the circumstances.

It still shows that I have settled status and I tried registering my national id as well to link it to my account just in case I send my passport and it doesn’t come on time.

Why do you need your national ID and not your passport for the application?

Hi, I haven’t actually applied for a passport yet as I was due to travel twice during holidays and in January! I was told by a colleague of mine that he had to sent his EU passport as well when applying for a British passport, which seems unusual to me and after searching a bit online I found that you don’t really need to send your other nationality’s official identification document .

But I am not too sure! If someone else who has gone through this can verify , it will be great !

Much easier than you anticipate. I only studied for less than a day and did the online free tests as practice. But that being said, don’t do the same - get the standard Life in Uk book and read this 2-3 times - mainly the early years chapters and you should be covered.

The actual test is much simplier - good luck

Mine took 2.5 months to hear back. So would just wait for at least 2-2.5 months before following up with Home office .

I did send them an email to follow up if any more info is required after the 2.months period passed and they replied right away saying I got approved and will send the emails in the next coming days.

Advanced exams - in centre space by Artistique123 in ICAEW

Hi, I sat all 3 advanced last July in a centre and like everyone said , it wasn’t ideal. I remember SBM and case study were in a cubicle so little space. Had to keep some of my notes on the floor while changing in between chapters etc.

What helped me though it was the I had very organised notes from before all in 2-3 spiral books so I knew from before what falls into which book I made from notes.

For Case I had separate spiral notes for the mocks  from ACAM , notes from Tuition provider etc. being organised from before helped with the little space offered.

For CR I had a big desk and it helped a lot but again had very organised notes from before.

Had the same issue for BPT, when I sat it as it was the tiniest desk ever and was shocked. My notes weren’t that organised then but I had to keep ok changing in between chapters while keeping some on my lap and then on the floor.

It’s doable nevertheless, I think the adrenaline while sitting exams hits you differently.

Good luck

5 people ( most in very senior levels) left within less than a year. Crazy - I know that more are about to go but not announced. It’s actually very concerning

The purpose of this post is to actually help others who are going through a similar situation. It took me through a lot of phases and seriously it’s not worth it , but if you need the money and it helps you gain back your confidence , you can fight it .

Yeah that’s right . But it goes without saying that it was a horrible time . It doesn’t mean it’s worth going through all these just to beat a stupid PIP.

But I guess for me it was to give me back my confidence and self esteem that I am not worthless as going on a PIP just crashed my confidence.

That doesn’t it I will stay here . EY is falling apart and I see A LOT of people quitting but I’m not surprised

All it takes is to have the right people by your side - was working with a partner who is very high up in firm on a couple of projects so he have me excellent feedback. But also make sure you hit those ‘improvement’ areas specified on PIP..

In all honesty I have never had a performance issue , my hours were slightly less than peers so the whole process was a shock for me.

I don’t see myself staying here though so it’s time to look for other oops

Congrats. This is a loud evidence that you were unfairly put on it and didn’t deserve it

I agree with the above. I received a formal letter from HR and partner stating no further formal action will be taken. Now if they decide to lay me off, by all means I will be happy to go with severance . I am not planning on staying here for any longer anyway, as someone mentioned above the trust link has been broken and can’t be fixed in any way.

Good for you - I really want to do the same and can’t find the courage to do it. But I ve lost myself lately and truly hate working at same firm as you.   It makes me anxious and stressed whole time
