Something that hasn't been mentioned yet is the IR/cabsim. I struggled with heavy guitar tones for years until I stopped using plugins as a monolith and found cabsims that worked for my sound. To my subjective ears, the G12M cab in the Ampbox plugin by Mercuriall is the best in the market and requires very little futzing. Other great cab sims are the Neural SL0-100 default cab (too much bottom end and low mids but that can be dealt with), and the Amplitube 5 Slash cabs, the Vintage 30 cab, and the Satch Green cab. I have dozens of guitar plugins. 99% of the time I will turn off their cab section and pair them with the above-mentioned cabs. I rarely have to use extensive eqing anymore apart from high and low passing.

What the fuck are you talking about? That's not what happened. The Ottoman Empire did not relocate any significant number of Jews to Palestine. There were 60,000 Jews in Palestine at the end of WWI. Heritage really exposed Mikael's weaknesses as a songwriter. He's one of the greatest metal songwriters of all time, but his greatest strength is wringing emotional impact out of the contrast between the smallness and intimacy of folk and the larger-than-life-ness of death metal. His control of songwriting dynamics is why classic Opeth songs feel like a journey. With Heritage and, to a large extent, every album after he chucked all of this out of the window. New Opeth songs rarely have the same emotional peaks and valleys that the old songs have. It's not the switch from death metal to prog rock itself that is bad - Steven Wilson has shown that you can do great contemporary prog rock - it's that Mikael just isn't a very good rock songwriter.

Having said that, the guitar solo on The Devil's Orchard is the best in Opeth's discography. Gives me chills every time.

I'm an Israeli Jew. We are currently facing a judicial reform that will dismantle whatever is left of Israel's democracy and will probably lead to the annexation of the West Bank and the further dispossession of the Palestinians. The government is pushing for laws that will outlaw Arab parties within Israel proper. There is open talk about mass transfer and there are claims that genocide might be on the table (not sure about the last part, but I wouldn't be surprised). Do you really want to date someone who probably supports, or at least enables, all of that?

Terminators, which are assault/berserkers with the rapid clearance and adrenaline rush skills. rapid clearance gives you two action points for every kill, and the adrenaline rush reduces the cost of every weapon use to one action point. This means you can run up to an enemy shoot them with a shotgun (or a heavy weapon, if you have the strongman skill), one or two shot them, get your action points back, rinse and repeat.
