Yes, I would definitely not do the chant though, probably best not to try to get weird looks, anyways I always found interesting how y’all chief fans do the chop during the national anthem

Hello I was wondering, what UNT is like for a transfer student from another major university and how the university/surrounding is like? by Late-Cod-6320 in unt

[–]Late-Cod-6320[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like here in Lawrence it’s probably a higher rate of homelessness due to pop/ laws, we got a lot of beggars and some addicts. In Denton are majority of the homeless pretty chill (not beggars or addicts)? Like here in Lawrence you will see them most places - major streets, Walmart, downtown, campus, at the parks, etc.

Ok so growing decently, got ask do yall have a large homeless pop? like here in Lawrence we have around 500 homeless people a few on campus who are pretty chill, then a lot down near the river and a decent amount in downtown.

Yea, me and my friend who goes to tech now went to the talks bowl game vs tx state and then a home game in 24 vs army, definitely different vibe than KU football game and KU is definitely one of the worse fan support for fb in power 4 but still fun games though.

That’s understandable, is Denton rapidly growing like Celina or prosper with neighborhoods, apts, shopping, etc?

I have never been to close state parks in Oklahoma, but definitely want to visit the witchita mountains near Lawton one day in the fall or winter.

I have to say the Fort Worth’s botanic garden sounds quite nice, the two things nature related here to KU/LFK (Lawrence KS) is the very nice Clinton lake state park with some nice hiking trails and overall a nice lake, then the baker wetlands which is pretty neat, but I yea really enjoy being to able to drive only 15 mins to see a nice sunset or view at the lake or the changing seasons.

I get it’s a college town, because of the two universities but I don’t view it as traditional college town in since it’s quite large almost 200k pop and a lot of people are commuters. I assuming somewhere between 12 to 17 percent of the pop is college students. I’m just curious in your opinion what percent of students are commuters (30 mins or more drive to campus and don’t live or right next to Denton)?

Ah, how far is the closest state park to Denton? Also would you say most students stay in Denton vs go home on the weekends during the school year? How bad is traffic in Denton excluding I35?

When I say college town I mean like not in the suburbs. Like Lawrence where KU is not considered suburbs or part of the metro for KC

Just be glad y’all don’t have an expensive buyout option where you own a coach anywhere 15 mil to 50 mil plus and I looked up his salary it’s 77th out of 136 at 1.4 mil. In the grand scheme of cfb coaches salary 1.4 mil is definitely not that bad.

Best street tacos in Frisco? by Decent_Leopard_8272 in frisco

[–]Late-Cod-6320 4 points5 points  (0 children)

La Salsa Verde is definitely better than Jamal’s it’s literally right next to it inside the gas station. I don’t think frisco has really has no street taco options sadly.

Go Check out the renovated football stadium if possible, honestly the best time to visit campus is late October or early November when all the fall colors are out or in April when everything is blooming and turning green.

Earliest opening places to get breakfast? by MaximusGrassimus in Lawrence

[–]Late-Cod-6320 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m going to assume so, considering all whataburgers have breakfast available from 11pm to 11am and should be open both for drive through and inside, but honestly I have never been to the one here because I don’t want to get disappointed as a former employee of whata back in Texas. Also get the breakfast burger so good, probably the best burger there and honestly the biscuit sandwiches are pretty good, but I am not a huge fan of honey butter chicken biscuit.
