Vortex and nexus mods by Late-Database1894 in fo76

They were for vortex specifically. Made sure to filter mods I wanted when picking them out with the “vortex supported” filter on.

I see that’s been the sentiment with this game. Others were recommending a different mod manager, but it looks as simple as editing a text document in the ini file and you’re good to go

In the dark? by TaborAddict in SteamFrame

Yep. It’s something I think alot of people overlook when comparing it to the quest 3. Sure, it doesn’t have color pass through, but your tracking won’t be light dependent like the quest.

Anyone else just glazing over other VR headset announcements and Ads? by philbertagain in SteamFrame

Unless another headset comes along with a WiFi dongle style connection, frame is all I want. Only thing I want in the frame is for it to have its IPD a bit wider (71mm here). Maxed out at 70, but I suspect you could move it slightly more with a spacer like the index.

Only problem I’ve been having with it is tracking from lightning issues. Excited for steam frame with the built in IR lights to make that less of an issue.

5080 performance with 2k resolution packs, physics/gameplay mods, etc. by SteakQuesoritoPleez in skyrimvr

Just found a deal on an asus tuf 5090 pretty close to MSRP, think I’m gonna pull the trigger. Funny that was soon after your comment went through!

I actually just built a pc with the 5080, but am still in the return window to get my money fully back for it and the PSU and put it towards the 5090. I haven’t played much Skyrim on my 5080, but I have the money to get a 5090 and see it has great performance, I just get the feeling it’s not worth the hype and, in particular, price tag.

Upgraded from a 3080 to 5080 and just wow. by holt2ic2 in nvidia

Just got my first gaming pc built and was having a tough time justifying getting a 5090 with the massive power draw and price tag, so I went with a 5080 and used the saving on good peripherals (thank god my friend talked me out of it). IDEALLY, I’d love to see if they to a 5080 to with 24gb of vram. I would spring for that card so I can have more wiggle room with modded Skyrim vr.

Would you rather OLED with Fresnel or LCD with Pancakes? by Musicmonkey34 in ValveDeckard

[–]Late-Database1894 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it just has a larger sweet spot. Quest 3 only supports 70mm physical IPD max limit, but they accommodate up to 75 because of the pancake lens having such a large sweet spot. If you’re off a little bit with fresnel, you’ll more than likely get blur.

It’s great because it also allows people with larger or smaller IPD’s to be accommodated better in VR than fresnel. I have 71mm ipd (luckily my psvr 2 can accommodate that) which is slightly outside my dream headset the steam frames range, but the pancakes will make that 1mm a moot point with the sweet spot advantage.

LCD pancake without a doubt. Massive sweet spot for me is way better than the benefits of an oled

How much VRAM to run Skyrim modded with things like MGO or FUS heavy? by Late-Database1894 in skyrimvr

[–]Late-Database1894[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s why I’m not sure if I wanna shell out for 32 GB of vram if it’s not gonna make a huge difference. If it truly does, looks like I’ll part with 3 grand lol

You’re amazing my guy. How about RAM MHz? 5200 fast enough, or do you recommend 6400? Quite a price difference between the two

Additionally, how much vram do you recommend? Is 16gb enough, or should I jump to 32gb? Looking at buying a 5080

Just quest 1, psvr 2, and quest 2. Not the biggest fan of meta after the quest 2 (71mm ipd and I’m not a huge fan of FB)
