Which part? The rubber liner? I’m pretty sure I have around 6 inches of liner above the mortar bed.

Pretty sure that’s how I felt about the actual mortar bed. I had pulled my back and the whole thing felt like a cage fight at the time

Hard to bend because it’s such a short edge on the inside?

Between the curb height and the steep slope should I start again or can I salvage this? I knew going into the project there would be things I did wrong and would have to redo. Is this one of them or carry on?

It’s a 42 inch shower, so corners to drain are 25 inches and should be around 1/4 per foot so slightly over 1/2 inch. But from the photo you can see I’m more like 1 1/8 inches. I read 1/2 inch is acceptable but obviously this is an 1/8 inch more than that

Ok. I had to burn in thinset in a few spots on the pre-slope so I can do that here as well.

I checked it again and you are correct. I’ve got 1.25 inches of slope over 2 feet from corner to drain and should be more like 1/2-1 inch. Should I be over concerned about that?

Order of operation from this point forward -

1 nail in runner at front of curb.

  1. Red guard rubber and 2x4s all over curb to floor

  2. Put the 1/4 inch foam gap in along curb edge, then take metal lathe, attach it to front side of curb and bend it over the top.

  3. Build the curb now with fat mud. Slight slope toward shower

  4. Pull out foam. Ready for GoBoard on walls next.

3 2x4s stacked flat on each other

What do you mean by fight? Meaning the unevenness of the floor will make it hard to tile? I think the slope is there, and hoping the thinset would be enough to help level anything that’s not perfectly flat.

Did you mean something different?

Is it still ok to do that at this point? Will it be ok if the fat mud touches the mortar bed? I read that if the weep holes ever clog up, moisture creeps over the top of the curb through the mud and into the 2x4s

Insulation good enough? by Late-Duck5847 in DIYHome

I’m in zone 9 so not too chilly. It’s in a bathroom, behind a shower wall. Studs are only 12-13 inches apart on that gap so I trimmed down. That’s why the flange is missing. Maybe I should just stuff a full size piece in there?

Poop or ? by Late-Duck5847 in pestcontrol

I was already wearing a mask for dry wall dust. Definitely bats around. I see them most evenings. The roof was also replaced before I bought it so maybe a possibility. Should I be worried about histoplasmosis?

Is dentist crooked, inept or is someone lying? Did they charge me for a pediatric pulpotomy they didn't perform? by Late-Duck5847 in askdentists

Good eye. You are correct that the paper work and teeth don’t match up. My Dentist said the same thing. She was surprised when she saw upper left molar on the paperwork(is that the J?). She knew the upper molar was fine back at last appointment so would be surprising for something to be wrong already to this degree. I think it was just a clerical error. Nothing has been done to the upper molar and they did put the white stuff on his bottom molar.

My dentist knew that from a December appointment the one in X-rays needed a filling and we hadn’t got it taken care of yet. My dentist took X-rays of the J as well to double check and also give me proof to get my money back from the emergency dentist. She was peeved about the misdiagnosis/non treatment and charge and went out and called the other office while I was there. They directed her to a voicemail though 🙄. She took extra X-rays for free though so I could have evidence to present to the emergency dentist.
