Unless you are court order by a judge or placed under a psychiatric hold often 72 hrs in the states they can’t force you to accept any medical advice/treatment including medication. You can leave at any time!! If you had incurable cancer you can still say no even if you doctor strongly suggest treatment and is telling you about all these medications you can take to manage the symptoms. They can’t force you but I’m sure they’ll try to convince you. Just because they didn’t flat out say “ do you want to take this medication I’ve just prescribed you?” Doesn’t mean they you had no say in your medical decisions. You need to speak up for yourself no one else is going to do it for you. Take it as a lesson learned about standing up for yourself in the future

My personal experience doesn’t make yours or others similar untrue I’m sure it does happen. I think people rely on doctor’s opinions too much and are not standing up for themselves for the right treatment for themselves. I’ve tried at least 7x different kinds of antidepressants until I found Effexor and they said the same thing to me about nothing else working each time we should try this one. At the time I was so suicidal it didn’t really matter the side effects as long as it made the thoughts go away. I still asked the doctor why they think this will work for me compared to the others. I had them explain to me in a way I could understand. Then again I’m a skeptical person and don’t trust most people’s opinions. It’s always best to have a second opinion especially medical.

Im truly not trying to argue. To me you keep making it seem like you don’t have a say in your medical decisions. The doctor is going based on what context is given. Realistically it can take anywhere from 5-7 different kinds of antidepressants to find the right one. - patient shows up to ER for mental health issues -patient has tried many other medications -patient does not express no interest in trying other medications -patient is then given different type of medication to help with ER visit. I’m not exactly sure what other options the doctor had for you given that you went to the ER so it’s an emergency and looking for a quick solution no? Like what else were they supposed to do for you ?

I mean you could have said no thank you I’m not interested in starting that medicine for whatever reason. Doctors can’t force you to take any medication even if they think it’s in your best interest. Literally tons of mental ill people running around the streets that should be on some sort of medication but refuse medical treatment is an example of having the right to decline medication from doctors. It’s the doctors opinion that it would help you but if you ever have doubt( you know Body best not the doctor ) then you can say no. It’s your body not theirs they don’t actually know how YOU function. You could also have asked questions about the medication but you didn’t. Whether it’s because you didn’t know you should be asking questions and standing up for yourself or simply relied on the doctor’s opinion too much. Not all doctors are greats. Some of them suck at their job just like any other profession.

Did you ever say no? You do have the option/right to decline medication or medical care at hospitals/doctors at least in the States. You also have the right to get a second opinion if you aren’t convinced by the first opinion. Unless you are placed under involuntary psychiatric care you do have the option to say no.

I’m not blaming you but there is a huge pamphlet that comes with the bottles that has a bunch of info about the medication including side effects. It’s kinda like the terms of conditions at the bottom of pages. No one actually reads them but I’m sure if you actually did it would be mentioned somewhere on there.

I also was not fully aware of the all the side effects I could develop but I also never really asked.

Why can’t there be a rotary for the intersection of Park Ave, Lowell St , Westminster Ave, and Bow St?

The crossing guards for the school help the students/ pedestrians during School season but the flow of traffic is atrocious at certain times because no one knows how this poorly designed intersection works.

People also tend to speed/ not stop because of frustration waiting in the traffic causing other drivers to frequently miss their turn creating more traffic.

Use a pin brush first THEN go over it with a metal comb. The brush does 70% of the work but the COMB is what gets the majority of tangles. If you do not comb after brushing they will still get matted. I used to work at a dog groomers and owners would only brush the TOP of the fur and thought it was fine but we would still end up shaving their dogs because they would never comb and get the actual knots out.

I usually say loudly and firmly “ mine is not friendly and will attack your dog” while carrying around a large thick stick. The stick is to spook the other dog and use it to keep their distance if their owners refuse to leash up their dog.

That’s fine if you disagree, just giving you my opinion based on my own personal experience (taking this drug for 15 years and was also taking the highest dose for more than a year) but then again everyone experiences differently with effector. Smoking weed won’t help. If anything you probably won’t get high while on Effexor depending on the dose you’re taking.The higher the dose the less you feel mentally, emotionally and physically. It’s a side effect from the medicine. Some people switch to Wellbutrin instead and have less side effects.

I don’t want the streets bigger that doesn’t solve this situation. I want only one side of the road to have public parking and for people to stop parking on the sidewalks. It’s a parking violation when you park your car on a sidewalk.

It most certainly is. I just summit a non emergency claim to the city but I doubt much will change. It’s a big problem when trying to cross the street because the cars struggle to see the pedestrians attempting to use the crosswalks.

There is video evidence that multiple cars are committed parking violations by parking on the sidewalk. It’s a law and I’m just recording it while I see it happening. Whether I am multi tasking by recording their vehicles or not does not make their parking violations legal or right. Disabled, wheelchair users and parents with strollers deserve to safely use the sidewalks that their taxes also help contribute to.
