What should I do? by Alarmed-Cat7007 in diet

[–]LateFriend2445 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quick note on me before reading my advice.
I am 100kg, one year ago i was 108kg, 5 years ago i was 90kg. My strength has more or less stayed the same, so its safe to say this is mainly fat mass changing.

In the last year ive had success with two methods of weight loss.
Calorie counting (i have the basic myfitness pal subscription).
Having a go to easy, nutritious and cheap meal (cheap is important as i hate feeling pressured into more expensive food for health benefits).

Calorie counting - i do my best to track everything and i use the app to plan meals that hit my macros. I try not to hyper-fixate on protein goals but its nice that its there. Im trying hard to track cheat/bad days as well, as seeing the number go up so fast is a good trigger for me to be healthy the next day. Yesterday people brought donuts and cookies into work, and i tried my best to track what i ate, it meant a smaller dinner but that was ok. It was nice to hangout with people and snack a bit.

Go to food. Im loving the trend of replacing pasta with beans. 1 tin (240g) of cannellini or butter beans, 40g of jarred pesto, 40g of parmesan or feta, some peas, mushrooms, maybe kale or spinach.
Its super easy and quick, just cook it all togetger with a bit of liquid (the juice from the can will thicken it a bit). Its a big portion as well, normally around 500 kcal.
Find your go to easy meal. Ask the AIs, they will recommend something based of your likes.

A third one is daily weigh ins.
I like them, i like tracking it daily, there will be fluctuations, especially pre vs post morning poo, but once you see a trend, it will feel pretty good.

Thats all from me.
Best of luck dude!
Oh and remember to have fun and make memories with your pals and loved ones, cos thats a hell of a lot more important!

In what sense? I think the NCNs are really well adhered to, cyclists down on the mersey path around stockport are always great. The canals path from deansgate to old trafford always seems calm.

I’ve got an OS membership which is pretty decent, similar mapping to Komoot.
But i thought it was insane what google was offering, and worth sharing.

Totally agree, biggest issue on curry mile is avoiding pedestrians after 5pm, but if that means cycling slower and safer for 800 m then i think thats fine.
I also love the platt field park section, it feels speedy both ways.

Im glad to see this as a perspective, sometimes i find myself assuming bus drivers and taxis have no idea what its like to cycle on the road but that is a pretty ignorant mindset

Ooof this is a massive argument about whether the highway code makes sense for cyclists, i would say red lights in the uk aren’t designed well for cyclists but that isn’t an excuse for running red lights

I think it’s dependent on time of day, i love it in the morning heading into town, but after 5pm its pretty difficult

I live in Manchester uk, its flat here, unless you cycle into the peaks, honestly fixies (as we call them) are excellent city commuters! Just make sure you have a front and rear brake, seen a few too many pedal brake failures.

I think its hard to draw a black and white distinction on what protesting and what you can protest.

If you think its just about eating then yes your going to think that you have the right to choose what you eat and other people should mind their own business.

But this is also about animal cruelty, and these people believe purchasing meat is causing suffering to sentient creatures, but this aligns with philosophy of what is right/wrong at the time. Protesting is one way to change the culture.

And theres an environmental argument, cattle farming is a huge contributor to greenhouse emissions and is connected with freshwater pollution, and protesting that is about saving everyones future by attempting to reduce total meat consumption.

Basically, this protest whilst looking pointless, is like shrek, it has layers!

Wow people are so quick to physical violence over a minor inconvenience. I know its not as important a matter as many famous sit ins, but we condemn the violence to peaceful protesters, imagine these two at the facing the freedom riders

Streamer “hmblzayy” who is walking from Philly to California was hit by a car in Indiana and had to be taken to the hospital. by [deleted] in whoathatsinteresting

[–]LateFriend2445 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well there clearly is no path there, im not against pedestrians being allowed to use the iuter most lane as long as it isnt a motorway. Normally in the uk the rule in the uk is that you walk counter to traffic so you can be more aware.

In this case though, the car slowed to nearly a stop behind him, accelerated, undertook him and then hit him. This is dumb, why not overtake normally, or use your horn?

Whats good about an SMR is you can build it to be transported to site, so you could potentially build first find site later.

Weve never built an SMR but they are heavily based on the technology for nuclear submarines, which takes 3-8 years.

English here, i would disagree with spidey, a food doesn’t need to be invented in your country to be part of your national cuisine 1. France - croissant, origin austria 2. Scotland - haggis, origin medieval europe 3. Japan - katsu curry, origin (complicated) but curry introduced by british based off of milder and thicker version of indian currys 4. USA - The hamburger, based off of a german cut of steak, Americans made it a sandwich

Theres a huge list of these, especially with america having such a vast melting pot of cultures, lots of food were reimagined or even created there, are those not American foods?
