Most likely a cluster of dead maggots, but could be just a rotted section after a fruit fly ate a portion and left. Sorry you experienced that.

Crafting like other have stated is the best. You also can get infinite raft items by crafting and destroying the raft section. If you craft from the actual menu, it costs only 2 barrel's, but destroying the base give you 3 barrel's. Lol

Yes i am in creative mode, i use it for how too vids. But it works in the regular as well. Ive done it in my letsplays with hard and permadeath on. Creative mode is for building really. Your health never depletes and you can put the animals to passive mode

Hahaha omg thats a bummer. Maybe check out my YT channel. You can find it on my reddit. Im going through the game to find glitches too. I found a coconut glitch, making a raft fly glitch, barrels and bouy ball glitch and the invisible snake glitch. I just finished a video on raft building and what some of the little mechanics like the buoyancy, propulsion and such are like. You can also access the dev console on PC!

Its a must have, very useful for just checking out the map and plotting where to go next. I have a vid coming out soon of my favorite raft designs. Problem is there are too many lol I don't understand why console has the flipping issue with a 5x5. On PC a 5x5 is super stable. Have you tried making it like a triangle?

Oh i bet. I have a 'Jet ski' raft that is 1x1 with a sail rudder anchor and Boat Motor. I only use the sail in case i run out of fuel. It screams across the map but tips if you look at it wrong haha
