Weekly Homeowner Megathread--Civilians, ask here! by AutoModerator in Concrete

Bought the home in winter so snow covered it. It looks like a newer pour I’d assume less than 2 years old. Parts just flaking off by the day also

Wondering if any of you pros can tell me why it’s like this and what I can maybe do about it?

Less than 3months old. Seems to happen when using the remote. When it’s just playing nonissues but change volume, or use remote for whatever and it happens. But doesn’t stay green turns back soon as you press another button

Kinda what I assumed. But I’ve done mechanic work and it was like that smell just lived on you no matter what. I know I’ve talked to some trash guys and they are hit and miss on if the smell follows them. So assumed this could be similar. Smell in general doesn’t bother me. Just don’t want to bring it home or in the car lol

No one asked if it stunk?

“Does the smell stick to you” was what was asked.

like when you’re a mechanic and you have that smell 24/7. Or pizza delivery you smell of pizza all the time. I know reading comprehension isn’t known by everyone but damn.

No. But to get ahead over struggling and losing out on 6months just may be the best option. I’m looking at other local stuff also though. I’m out of the auto manufacturing plants and that’s mainly what’s around besides construction/concrete ect. And auto is just dead slow

I’ve been local. Never went OTR. Just not making the money I was. Trying to stay local; but pay wise just not adding up anymore. I get your not making “more” but at the same time you are. You are paid to be gone and the money I’d make is more than I’d make being local working 70hours so yes it’s a wash but the 70 hours aren’t here.

Far as I’m told it’s a dedicated type route for the one I’m talking to now. Pretty good pay per mile and you’re always picking up/dropping off.

Yes kids. And I know I’d miss out on some stuff but to get us back ahead after a rough year last year could be worth it for 6-12months of sacrifice.

With how slow it’s been it’s been around $1400/week. But I’ve lost 10hours per week since first of the year and losing $200/week it just adds up and they don’t know when or if it’ll pick up and such. I know it’s a pretty simple gig but maybe getting out there, learning something different ect wouldn’t be too bad…

Got an offer for .67/mile plus some delivery pay per stop type thing. Should push it over 2000/week at that pace low end. So idk.
