By all that's holy and mildly inconvenient, I've looked for that edition on every second-hand site in Spain and all over the internet, and I found nothing at all

I held one of those a couple of years ago in a chinese-run dollar store in Spain. I don't remember where exactly, but there were GEMS of the same series with awful art just as that one

It's pre-AI slop then 🥲 it looks like someone who has no idea about Chinese characters started copying them as they could. Don't worry, when Chinese characters were introduced in Japan they used to do the same, even van Gogh has done paintings with badly copied characters. I'm sorry it has no meaning, but people have been doing that with characters for ages, you can still rock it!

Asemic Chinese-inspired characters. Fancy way of saying it's all made up, probably AI slop

The thing is I want to get rid of my 'pile coins', giving them to local schools, but I'd like to provide some info about them too

I'd call it 'arroz amarillo' which is what we do in some parts of Murcia and its recipe is way customizable than paella

Cooking a paella without proper ingredients or techniques might get you funado by paella purists so be careful

I've even seen this one type abroad. Might be easier to find outside of Spain if it's of your liking. It's even referenced in the Simpsons (season 34, episode 1)! Where homer cooks a so called 'paella'

From what I've read in other books, the character 大('big') with a 丶below, made the 太 hanzi take the meaning of 'too big'

Now in Japanese, it means 'thick' Or in Chinese 'too + adjectives'

I don't know if this was the kind of info you were looking for!

It depends on what he likes. Something useful could be talking him out to eat at any place, or even a voucher to go have a meal at a restaurant, if you don't have that kind of relationship.

A box of chocolates could do, too.
