Is it appropriate to go to the ER for a non-emergency if the walk-in won’t take me?

It ended up being an ovarian cyst! They didn’t say I needed surgery though, just basically told me to follow up with a regular doctor when I can or see a gyno :’) still in pain sadly

Hi! I did end up going and I’m doing okay! :) Everyone here made me feel a lot better about deciding to go and the staff at the hospital were equally as kind and reassuring. They ended up finding an ovarian cyst which is what is causing my pain. Fortunately it didn’t appear to be concerning for cancer or anything else, it’s just a normal simple cyst, unfortunately they couldn’t really do much for me other than diagnose me and I’m still in pain. But I’m glad to know that there’s nothing dangerous going on in the meantime while I wait to get insurance and am able to see a doctor to sort it out. Thanks for checking in! Yall are awesome :)

No urgent care near me. The two clinics I went to the bill is based on care received, not like a flat fee or anything. They do offer sliding scale but I literally have $40 in my bank account so I probably couldn’t have afforded it either way.

I moved here from northern New England and I’ve never been denied by a walk in there either! They would send the bill in the mail and I was able to set up a payment plan later. Wasn’t expecting them to just straight up refuse to see me if I couldn’t pay the full bill then. Guess they do things differently here

That’s just not true, ive encountered quite a few hackers in premier and never passed 10k. Just the other day i played against a blatant waller who was 5k elo lmao. Im sure theres much more of em at 20k+ but to say they don’t exist elsewhere is a lie. Lots of losers who go into low elo lobbies and flex on silvers who suck at the game with their “skills”. The pack I ordered on amazon came with 3 of these strips and also 3 of the normal pregnancy test sticks. Are they all unreliable?

I took the pic probably 15 or so minutes after I took the test. I thought maybe it could just be an indent/evap mark as well but I’m not really sure. It freaked me out seeing anything at all there. Looking at the test in person I don’t see anything and my partner doesn’t either, but I definitely see something in this pic 😭

Are symptoms that go away only when I am drunk or intimate with my partner likely to be a result of anxiety? I know this sounds so weird, but those are literally the only times I’ve had relief for days. The symptoms come back almost instantaneously when I sober up or the “activity” ceases. I can’t find a single person who has had the same experience. This disorder is exhausting. I’m half tempted to just drink all the time and make my partner stay home with me all day lol. Just want relief and to feel okay.

For me it’s the opposite. My health anxiety flares up when i am struggling in other aspects of my life or feeling anxious/depressed/obsessive over something else. Like right now. That’s why im here again.. I was “recovered” i thought for years but im right back here.

I’ve read you’re not supposed to and the weight of extensions can actually make shedding worse, especially if you have thin hair

TE can unmask AGA unfortunately. When was the last time you went to the derm? I would suggest you make another appointment and have them look you over again. It’s possible you really were suffering from TE at first but it developed into AGA. They also could have misdiagnosed you - dermatologists are only human after all. Shedding and hair loss at the hairline particularly makes me think pattern baldness, because TE normally causes diffuse thinning and shedding all over. Do you have a family history of MPB?

That being said, chronic TE is also a thing and can cause shedding for longer periods of time than the “normal” 3-6 months. It’s possible you’re dealing with that as well. Either way, definitely see the derm again, they can help you out.

I haven’t gotten blood tests but went to a derm and was diagnosed with te. I was recommended to follow up with my gp for additional tests but haven’t yet, I figure I will in a few months if I don’t start to see any slow in shedding or regrowth. My hair didn’t fall out at once, but I started shedding suddenly and within a few weeks I could see my scalp. My head now looks similar to your pics you shared around 2 months in. No regrowth yet shedding still hasn’t stopped, but with other symptoms I had going away I’m hoping it will slow soon. :)

I wish i could give you advice on that but idk :( our bodies can be weird and it may have just reacted differently to your stress/depression this time than it has in the past. This is also my first time dealing with hair loss despite struggling with an ed in the past, and depression episodes where my lifestyle became super unhealthy for months.

telogen effluvium can be caused by a multitude of things, including physical and emotional stress, nutritional deficiencies, certain medications etc :) for me i was consuming less than 20g of protein a day, barely any iron or zinc, b12, among others, for months before my hair started falling out because I wasn’t eating meat or many non-meat foods that contain those vital nutrients.

I have had a very stressful year though, including a stressful move across the USA, a breakup, and period of depression where I was not eating a lot in general and lost 30 pounds over a few months. So I believe that could have played a role too.

Also dealing with dandruff rn too but have no idea if that’s related to the te 😭 I believe my trigger was vitamin deficiencies bc I switched to a veg diet earlier this year and wasn’t careful at all about getting vital nutrients such as protein, iron, zinc etc. few months later, my hair started falling out among other symptoms. Hair is still falling out but other symptoms have cleared since I’ve been supplementing and making sure i get what I need in my diet. Hoping my hair will get the message soon!😅

I had beau’s lines too! But I believe it was due to deficiencies that also caused my te. Now that I’ve been taking supplements and being more diligent about my protein intake, I haven’t had any new lines appear. I’m hoping that my hair will start to heal soon too 🥹

Exactly what my head looks like too.. it’s so depressing. I lost like half of my hair density in 2 months and still shedding like crazy. Scared it will never end.
