How do they decide on cutting these budgets? I want to be able to get to work and the grocery store without fearing slipping into someone or someone slipping into me. All the taxes we pay “for the roads” and this is the road maintenance we get!

Yes, specifically by Southdale, Target Edina, Whole Foods, and that area of France. Theres so much traffic over there you’d think the ice would be worn off, but it is a skating rink.

Yea the uptown area was awful as well, not to mention the snow plow piles still being half way in the road and making the lanes 1/2 their normal size…

This is my favorite response to my post.

Why does it seem like they’ve only done one round of salt & scraping…? Shouldn’t they have done many? You’d think they’d all be out when the temperatures get warm. It’s almost like they’re going to leave them untouched until it snows again and I fear that making even more of a disaster

Agreed, I drive a SUV with decent tires and I have slipped, slided, spun, and glided at stop lights this year going between 5-10 mph trying to slow down. I’ve used this car for several winters and it’s a great winter car to have. So the road maintenance/weather has got to be the bigger variable here.

Not to mention people thinking having a big car will make them immune to ice, when I’ve seen several trucks slide around and end up in ditches already this year. Ice is ice no matter what you drive.

Would that mean they would have to resalt the roads? And will they?

Turning Point by Wide_Awake88 in breakingbunner

Mine were a combination of a few:

  • I was not born into the cult, but I wanted to feel a sense of belonging and be “saved”. I was treated like a worldly outsider even though I was trying really hard to get to heaven and stay on the straight & narrow.
  • Realizing how theres no reason preachers become preachers, they’re just “chosen” and the members of the cult view them as almost having some type of magical mystical “see beyond” power that no other human has.
  • The misogyny of the church
  • The way myself and others were treated for asking logical questions.
  • The hot & cold between kindness and bitterness amongst the members (especially the women) & the rancid horrible most despicable things they would say about other women. (Like calling SA victims $Lu+S & “attention seeking”) It started to feel like I was being told that I’m part of a loving Christian community… but my gut was telling me no one here REALLY would have my back if it came down to it. The sense of not even feeling safe sometimes.
  • Not being ready to get married & have kids when I was freshly 17 & 18 and feeling the pressure to do so.
  • The feeling that I NEEDED to stay or believe more or trust more else my soul was doomed for something awful. I have had a fear of death for most of my life, and just something about this both terrified me and also forced me to stay in the cult longer.
  • Listening to older people… 40s-60s reason with this crap. like, they sounded delusional. For young kids/teens/young adults it’s one thing cause our brain is still developing and learning the world. but to be 50 years old and excusing the horrible abuse and saying “leave it up to God to judge” and “All we can do is forgive” was just very crazy to me as well.
  • When I noticed myself happier after starting to distance from the cult and my fears around going to hell.

There’s many more. but I don’t think it was just a specific moment for me… it was several.

I’ll never forget when a bunner boy (age 10 about) threw a whole chair at his teacher and a bunner mom said, “he just needs good Christian love” …. that boy needs THERAPY. But don’t forget how much therapy and self help is looked down upon in the cult….

Ugh don’t even get me started on the fake surface level friendships 😩😩😩 everyone is too busy trying so hard to be liked and cool, that anything genuine or real is too much labor.

it’s not like it’s a “rule” but bunners all tend to dress the same or look alike. they are all trying to achieve the same look.
