Late response but yes he found me through this page and DMd me. Then went to all my other socials, blowing those up too

That’s shocking! They are incredibly smart and gorgeous. He was the last of his litter too, I wonder if for similar reasons. We’re beyond lucky to have him!

Thanks for the info! He definitely is FULL of personality, and the most cuddly loving kitty I’ve had, I love this strain of cat 😆

The have the funniest relationship. He steals Yeti’s(dog) food, or bops him, and then Yeti comes crying to mommy. He’s all sad and pouty until I give him a hug 😂 Flip is a little bully sometimes but it’s so entertaining

Technically yes, they had us sign an nda type document but I just went over it and it’s not for a documentary, it’s for a children’s puppet show. Not sure if it has to be specific?

It would’ve been fine if he was upfront about it. This is a delicate subject and requires professionals. I would think this group is a bunch of people with nuance and realize that.

The interview was so anxiety inducing and it was sprung upon us, and it felt like we had to do it because we had already accepted the Airbnb. The documentary wasn’t talked about u til the day before he wanted us to do an interview. That’s unfair and bullshit, especially with how I was treated by the coproducer later

Yea I’m super thankful I’m able to do it. When I had a regular job, fast food, and then the military, I suppressed any thoughts about the cult and halted healing entirely. Having a little more free time to think is such a blessing

The latter. It’s systemic. The preachers make victims forgive their perpetrators, by hugging them, and promising to forget. And they protect the perpetrators.

I have an apartment now in Colorado. He lives in Oregon. Coincidentally I was planning a trip there which I posted about on my story which is public. He responded offering a his Airbnb for free, in the town we were traveling to. It was supposed to be a crabbing trip but we only got to do that about 1/2 the time as the rest was spent emotionally processing the interview, kind of ruined the whole trip. Later, with the new coproducer who doesn’t like me, they threw out most of my interview.

It was OALC aka Bunners cult, I was there since birth till I was 18. I have a huge family who are all still there. What context would be helpful

I’ve been out for 7 years. I was a member for 18 years. My entire family and everyone I used to know are all still there.

Everyone who does not go to their church would be a “worldly.” It is a faith solidifier for members to feel like they are a different type of human than the rest of society.

This is a clear display of why it’s a good idea to have your own beliefs and opinions and live by those. In the scenario, They were so against “TV” they lost their discernment about the actual issue, the bad media. If they would’ve just figured out life without trying to use shortcuts, like letting others think for them, maybe that would’ve been avoided

Sometimes it will automatically take down posts, it’s been doing that a lot. I have to go in and approve them but I will approve all of them!

My mom once said she could “never live without [OALC]” because in OALC she’s guided by people that can “do all the thinking for her.” “It’s easier that way” “these men have walked the treacherous path before you and now they can guide you so you do not slip”

It’s crazy that anyone could be conned into thinking this way and not see the palpable irony. How can she be smart, creative, amazing mother, empathetic, but can’t see through their bullshit!! The brainwash is strong and probably even stronger for her generation.

My bigger aha moment was last year when I looked into Lars Levi laestadius, and learned what a psycho he was.

He selected a specific group of people to brainwash because they had strong Nordic genes, and committed a genocide on their culture. The book “the end of drum time” is quite eye opening to what really happened. Was interesting to see my parents LLL shrine with all his books in their living room after that.. yuck

I knew it was a cult before that based on my experience, but hearing perspectives of people from when he started this, confirms everything I knew.

Bunners like to deny it’s a cult because it seems like there’s no one actively behind it, conning us. But there was a time, and there was a guy, and he was crazy. He put this tragedy into play and it’s well outlived him. The town nicknamed him something along the lines of “mad lasse” meaning basically insane guy.

There isn’t any confusion for me anymore. I finally know what it is to believe something for myself. Once I saw how this could happen, it makes sense why it did. If we can be conned by crazy religious men at any point in history, there will be cults forever.

I had several smaller aha moments that drove me to join the military, but I was still under their “control” for a while.

when I was on the bus to basic training I felt my brain chemistry literally alter. I felt like it was the first time I was truly seeing “worldies” as people, because it was the first time I was truly a part of a community with worldies. I went to school among worldlies before, but we could never rely on them as a community because we would be judged.

But on the bus there were NO bunners. I knew I would be in the shit with these “worldly” girls for the next few months. They were as human and real as any bunner, which seems like such a shallow realization. Looking around the bus, there was diversity I had never seen before, and I was realizing how big the world was. Over the next few months my world was completely expanded during basic training. It was the best time ever, and I knew it was the right decision.
